Hello Buzz. Welcome.

See... the thing is "I" have it under control. It's not a problem "really". It's all good...I know the rest of you have a problem but I......I don't. I can do this, I can stop any time I want! If I have to.

Hello my name is..Kevin.

Nothing beats a late night drive in the summer with the top down, All you can hear is your exhaust and no one else on the road.

hi. my name is bb and i am an S2holic. it's been much worse since i retired. i check the oil and tire pressure before every drive, which is just about every day. i change bb's oil every 3,000 miles.

i have to drive. i have to drive fast. if i am in the city, it is freeway ramps and curvy lanes. if i am in the country, it is the back roads where there is no traffic enforcement. the more curves in the roadway, the better. i am ecstatic, and feel alive when i see triple digits.

sometimes i have to sneak to drive. at 5:00 a.m. on a weekday, before the morning rush hour, i can be found on different segments of the atlanta freeway system, powering out of curves as the orange arced tachometer climbs toward 8000, having pushed bb silently out of the garage minutes before while my wife slept on, nestled in the arms of morpheus. weekends i can be found on county road 188 twisting, and turning, and keeping an eye out for deer, mules, and tractors. yes, i came upon a mule in the road once.

my preoccupation with bb is causing quite a rift in my family life. sometimes i can coax my wife along, but she doesn't have the disease. she can quit anytime she wants. she is a social driver. i try to keep my driving hidden from friends, and family members, but you know they see me pulling into the driveway, and they know.

at times i am like soundman. i drive aimlessly, the asphalt luring me on, mile after mile. hours disappear, and i find myself miles from home. new towns appear, and i search for food, and gas. a cup of coffee, and a road map; that is all i ask.

i worry about alzheimer's, but the doctors say that there is nothing wrong with me, and that if i am to change, it must come from within. it is good that we had this meeting as i thought i was the only one with this problem. it is comforting to know that there are others.

i don't know what to do. i don't want to stop. should i call dr.phil?

bb

You have, what we call, Honda's disease. Also known as big S fever. It's quite hard to overcome because it produces endorphins, similar to narcotics. They are working on a patch that infuses Mobil 1 around the clock but that's years away. In the meantime, you can purchase a steering wheel combination and a bucket seat. When you feel the urge, put your derriere in the bucket, seize the wheel at 10 and 2 and make vroom, vroom sounds.

Take 2 spark plugs and call me in the morning.

I am here to help each and everyone of you to a better future with your S2K, just follow my simple 12 step program and you cannot go wrong. Dr. Jessa is in the house!!!

The Twelve Steps

STEP#1: "We admitted we are powerless over the S2k-- that our lives have become consumed by the need to drive and be around her."

STEP#2: "Come to believe that a Power greater than ourselves cannot restore us to sanity."

STEP#3: "Make a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of our s2k."

STEP#4: "Make a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves and prepare for the drive."

STEP#5: "Admit to ourselves, and to other human beings the exact nature of our need for speed and the open road."

STEP#6: "Were entirely ready to have her remove any flaws or defects from our character."

STEP#7: "Make a list of all the harm we've caused and became willing to make amends to her."

STEP#8: "Humbly ask her to forgive any bumps and bruises she has suffered along the ride."

STEP#9: "Make a direct need to cruise whenever possible, except when doing so would injure yourself or others."

STEP#10: "Continue to take a personal inventory of any mishandeling and when we were wrong promptly admit it to her."

STEP#11: "Through her we feel the meditation to improve our conscious contact and become one as we understand her, looking only for knowledge of how to better improve our ride if possible and give us the power and money to carry it out."

STEP#12: "Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we try to carry this message to other S2kaholics, and to practice these principles will result in ever lasting happiness."

Amen~

HEHE

I refuse to read this I like what I have and plan on keepin it.

Road map!?! why thats the whole darn point is to get lost so you have to drive more to find out where in the hell you drove to.

Here are a list of my rules when I drive.

1. No big main highways (unless its late at night and your strung out and have to get home)

2. No maps (learn the roads you drive sooner or later you will know practically every road thats around you. I personally know most of NE and some W ends of OK.)

3. You can not double back on the road you drove out on.

What this has done is now for me to get lost I have to drive really far out in an attempt to get lost. Its way fun.
