No Front Plate

I've been driving for a year in Oregon without a front plate, knowing it's a matter of time before I get pulled over. This afternoon I was parked in downtown Portland having lunch with my daughter and when I got back to my car I had a ticket from the City of Portland Parking Enforcement.

Not even a cop, just a meter maid that walked by and noticed I didn't have a plate. Fortunately, that ticket is only $35. Not even worth the trouble of a mock mount and sending in a photo.

That's pretty common here in LA. If you get a ticket for no plate you must take you car to the PD after you put the plate on and have them look at the plate person and sign off on the ticket.

It happened to me in San Francisco. I went to the police station and the guy took my word for it and never looked at the car. With my Mugen airibox a front blocks the inlet.

I got my first S200 in early 2000 and I've never had a plate on the front or got a ticket for it. I can't believe that I've been that lucky considering that I've had 6 speeding tickets over that same period.

Happened to me back in '85. The officer came through the high school parking lot and gave tickets to all of the students without front plates. He didn't go through the teacher's parking lot though. Hmmmmmm......

I know for a FACT that the last year of production of the S2000 is 2003!!!!!
After that, it will be the S2200 under an assumed name.
