Stung by his superior's rejection of his recommendation because he lacks recent combat experience, Strobl volunteers for escort duty, accompanying the remains Pfc. Chance Phelps, killed at 19. From Dover to Philadelphia by hearse, from there to Minneapolis and on to Billings by plane, and then by car to Phelps' Wyoming home - person after person pays respects. Kind words, small gifts, and gratitude are given Strobl to deliver to the family on this soul-searching journey.

What do you value more sailor ur country or ur pride because with the debt that our country is in we can't continue to have both. Why don't you take a hard look at that. Yes I am a liberal and before you say I have no respect for soldiers I do I have all the respect in the world for them. Also it's not that I'm against war I'm against how we wage war. War is not a game like everyone thinks it is there should be no rules. The way I see a country should not go to war unless you have so much hatred for someone that you r ready to drop a nuclear bomb otherwise your not ready war is about victory nothing else.

I deleted my earlier posts, out of respect to fallen soldiers and to Sxy. I didn't intend to get all out of whack, but a flippant remark set me off. I plan on going to see the movie as soon as I can.

That wasn't meant to be a political remark. It just reflects the stupidity of so many on this planet. Whether you're fore or agin, sometimes there is no choice. But war is a terrible wast of lives and resources and I don't think there can be any argument about that. The human race is just not that removed from tribes throwing rocks at each other. Just bigger rocks.
