What's with the noobs?

Is it just me seeing this or are there A LOT of noobs joining this forum all of a sudden. All of them asking the same question, how to go fast, when to do it and what's the cheapest.

It happens. We go through cycles.

I have ZERO evidence of this, but it may be from veteran S2000 owners selling their cars since the summer is over and trying to get as much as they can for it before the cold months and the price drop until spring. Just a thought.

I know for a FACT that the last year of production of the S2000 is 2003!!!!!
After that, it will be the S2200 under an assumed name.

It's pretty annoying. Every time i get on the site there's someone talking about how to go faster or which LED's are the best or something like that.

Yeah but everyone is a newb at one point. Some turn out great - others never grow out of it.

i agree with go:

S2000's go on sale this time of year because owners drive them for the summer but want to sell them before the winter. They also go up for sale right before the summer as well because they are seasonal cars in most areas and that is when they sell for the highest prices.

right now, they are cheaper because most people don't want to buy an enthusiast car and have it sit around for a couple months. cheaper cars means more kids who want to beat their friend's civic.

more kids = more ricer noobs on this site. it's seasonal.

How long has this forum been around? I'm not even sure how long I've been on it, but it gets checked quite a few times a day....about as much as e-mail and facebook. The motorcycle forum I belong to has become overgrown. It's hard to even use these days, because it's just all jumbled up, and there's other countries involved that don't even use English. Every time I check in, there's like 350 new posts. How is that useful??

I much rather this site to s2ki and s2kca. It feels more friendly and much easier to use and search.

As for newbs, I've been there and did a lot of searching and reading before posting the same basic questions.

I wouldn't mind but I feel like a lot are starting up arguments at least with me lol. Same thing that happen last year and we lost a few good guys because of it, Then the seemed to thin out got some "new" good guys and now the trollz are back. I 100% dont mind a newb he comes on and asks about an exhaust I mean sure its been asked 101 times but when they join on they dont realize that.. Its the guys that come on ask about the exhaust get 15 answers and dont come back for a month to even see.. Then they tell us the smoked a civic with there new exhaust and what wheels should I get now?

Without noobs this forum would, most likely, be dead. The posts would then consist of group meetings and such.

Example:
Monday Oct. 5 2009 JDMHonda posted: Hey guys, wanna drive with me to McDonalds in Glendale?

Wednesday Oct 7th 2009 JDMHonda posted: Hello? Anyone?

Wednesday Oct 7th 2009 gomarlins3 posted: No.

Wednesday Oct 7th 2009 JDMHonda posted:

I'd rather have noobs ask the same questions ONCE IN A WHILE.

Monday Oct 5th 2009 XenoLoser posted: I need more stuff for my car. Where can I get it? My inability to use the internet is "DURHHHHHHH.........." Also, where can I find TONS or pron?

Monday Oct 5th 2009 turbosix posted: Try Ebay. Sadly PRON or Patriotic Movement for National Rebirth was disbanded in 1989. Those silly Polish people.

Guess I missed that one.. I have seen them posted up but dont think anyones ever met up but I could be wrong. Whatever, its not the repetitive questions that are asked, its tough, When I joined up I was stupid had no idea, I thought I did but I didn't but I came on asking questions not making like I knew what I was talking about and arguing with people. You can LEARN soooo much from forums and asking questions and listening to answers, instead of arguing.

I was away for a lot of the summer without alot of opportunity to log in. I have noticed a change in attitude since regularly logging in for the last month or so. Yesterday I even scrolled through the posts looking at join dates to figure out how new to the forum a lot of the people were. There were a lot of new people. Some are asking weird questions and some people responding are impatient, grumpy or even confrontational in some cases. I also notice that some of the longer term members are not posting as much. Too bad, but I suppose the novelty wears off or in some cases they sell. I have only been coming on for a little over a year. I have really appreciated the info, insite and even downright wisdom I have gotten from here. Java, Phil, Gom, Turbo, great contribution and attitude. Others, let's just be patient, not get pissed to easy and if we do, just don't respond. They might just go away on their own. (although that was a pretty good rant posted yesterday, I don't think that guy will bother coming back much.)
