Parts

I'm looking to upgrade my 2005 S. I already have a cold air intake. Looking for catback exhaust, headers, maybe a new racing clutch and anything else that will make my car faster. If you know anything, please contact me at simon@roffe.com. Looking to spend in the next week or so.

the stock clutch works fine until it stops grabbing. Gears i think would give you the most gain

Comptech supercharger with aftercooler
4.77 gears
Rick's header
Invidia test pipe
Comptech exhaust

That's my drive line. What do you want to know?

I know for a FACT that the last year of production of the S2000 is 2003!!!!!
After that, it will be the S2200 under an assumed name.

Let me rephrase. Do any of you have anything you're looking to sell right now?

Also - excuse the dumb question but gears would get me the most gain? How do I do that? Someone previously posted 4.77 gears, and I'm not sure I understand what that means, can someone explain?

Gears will not get you the most gain, boost will. But changing the gearing in the rear differential will give the sensation of more torque as the the rear wheels will spin more often per revolution of the engine.

The OEM rear gear is 4.10 to 1. Changing to 4.44, 4.56, or 4.77 will rotate the rear wheels more often as the engine spins.

To change the rear gear, you can purchase the gear and the parts you need from either Rick's or hardtopguy and have them installed by a reputible company.

--OR--

Buy a complete differential with the gear already installed from Hardtopguy (like I did) and have the diff installed, then send your OEM diff back to HTG. He pays all the shipping.

Don't forget to buy the speedo calibrator or your odometer and speedo will be wrong.

I said gears would be the biggest gain because not everyone wants to boost their poor engine or is willing to lay down 5-6 k.

I checked out hardtopguy.com - didn't see any listings on there for a complete differential or gear differential or anything like that. Can you direct me? How much did that run you?

This is if you want the 4.77's. If you plan on going with boost, get the Comptech reinforcement. I didn't and I now wish I did.

Thanks! Lets say I do this, how much faster will my car be? It looks like its 2500. Could I also get a turbo charger and super charger along with this, or is it an either/or thing?

The cost is about $1400 after you receive your core charge back. It is hard to quantify how much quicker (remember, gears make you quicker, not faster) your car will be. Everyone I have heard from that got them claim the car feels a lot quicker. I am not saying it will get to 60 in under 5 seconds or anything, but it does feel quicker than stock.

You can still boost the car if you like. I have both. The gears handle the low RPMs and the SC handles the top.

21 month old thread - probably not a record, but this site has a nice long life, huh? Welcome, zero, but if I were you I'd start a new thread for this and see what the current opinions are. And if you haven't yet, check in on the new people thread and introduce yourself!

In case anyone is looking for a 4.56 diff, I have one for sale. It has a Rick's crown & pinion and has done 5,000km since installation. Car has been written off hence the sale.

Diff is in Adelaide Australia, and price is $1500 Aus dollars (about US$1000), plus shipping. I've been quoted $65 to eastern Oz.

I could check on frieght costs if anyone abroad is interested.

Also have many other parts if you are looking for something.

I just wanted to say a clutch and flywheel does make a bit of diffrence... Because every 2.2 pounds shaved off of rotational weight frees 1 horse power. i have a modified factory induction box, (Complements of J'sS2K) and it's great. i feel and hear more breathing than with my Aem intake.

Sounds like a great NEW thread, Bronx! You should start a new FS thread, adel. Let the old ones die, start new stuff for new stuff.
