Leo, Leo, Leo, Leo . . owyadoon?
Question: why the urge to venture from stock?
Be honest now.
If you've truly brought Stewie to the edge n' you're lookin' to stretch that edge a little further, knowin' that the relatively plush ride that you've become accustomed to will suffer . . well then, it sounds like you've done your homework n' the money will be well spent.
If you can, get a ride in someone's Stewie that's got bars before you spring the jing. (If you're able to attend that "Wake-the-Dragon" down at Deal's, not only will you probably get more info than you ever wanted, it sounds like you'll have a blast to boot)
Check it out first Leo. Alodda folks make the bar switch n' wind up re-installin' the stock units (I'm talkin' about more than jus' Stewie here) 'Seems like alodda money wasted jus' to find out that you won't be happy with what you'll hafta sacrifice in the stock ride quality.
Be well n' however you go, good luck.

What I'm sayin' is that you should have a pretty good idea of what you're gettin' yourself into before spendin' money on parts that might change things to somethin' you might not be happy with.
I godda go by what you said Leo: "i don't really know anything about cars" and ask again: what makes you feel that you need to upgrade your stock suspension?
Be well.

There is not an OEM front strut bar, but there is on the rear. As to whether you need a front one or not, not really. They do add some 'bling' to the engine bay and I have had three different ones over the years.

There are obviously sway bars front and rear. Both do an excellent job. Comptech use to make a matching set and they also made a competition adjustable front. I have the CT adj. front on mine and it makes a big difference. Will you feel it around town, probably not. If you autoX or track the car though, I would suggest it. I added their larger rear bar for a little while, but didn't like the amount of oversteer it produced. I am back to OEM on the rear. I did see a set of CT sways on eBay yesterday.

I know for a FACT that the last year of production of the S2000 is 2003!!!!!
After that, it will be the S2200 under an assumed name.

I have had a Spoon STB and two different Comptech ones.

As for the lower body brace, I have the Comptech 'dog bone' and the Comptech rear bar as well.
