If the carbon look isn't Your thing, You can paint the thing. It'll still weight less than the stock hood and I guess the paintjob would cost less than the 400$ You loose by selling it. You could also sell Your stock aluminium hood to get back some of the money.

Also, could You take a photo of it and weight it?

The link to the s2ki forum is a pic, but I can get more if needed. As far as weight goes I will have to look it up on the net somewhere.
