If it's on the car then what's the problem? Why won't it work on an AP2?

There is a slight loss up high with all of Rick's headers. What you gain is through the middle where it's needed.

I know for a FACT that the last year of production of the S2000 is 2003!!!!!
After that, it will be the S2200 under an assumed name.

no, but I'm building a racecar from a bare chassis so it should be pretty easy to figure out as I go

Just a tip or two (or three):
1. When removing the last bolt on the battery heat shield (closest to the firewall), just loosen it, don't completely remove it. The heat shield is slotted and will lift off of it as long as it is the last bolt. Trying to get that bolt back into the hole is VERY difficult if you take it all the way out.

2. If you have racheting box wrenches (I bought a set just for this task and removing the cat) it is A LOT easier to get to those heat shield bolts.

3. Have a second person help you install the header. Have them up top and you underneath as you attempt to align the exhaust manifold studs and the header. A second pair of hands and eyes makes it A LOT easier. Mrs. GM3 helped me after I struggled by myself for 30 minutes. Once she go there to help, it took like 1 minute.
Good luck, it's really not that tough, just a little time consuming.

Nothing could ever be as hard as installing an aftermarket header as my focus was that I had pre S. It took me and two friends 10.5 hours to do and we are all pretty good with mechanical stuff. 8 hours of it was just getting the old one out. The other 2.5 hrs was putting the new one in. It was just that there was no room. That motor was cramed in there. That's day we'll never forget.
