I agree!! Corners are more fun!

Launching the S2000 has resulted in a lot of broken parts. Mainly diffs and clutches, and in the rare case of one of my friends, the transmission housing. But if have to launch, make sure your tires spin. The bogging after a high RPM launch is what kills a lot of parts.

Max;
Go out n' pick yourself up an ugly but mechanically sound Mustang r' other pony car. Go out n' smoke 'em if ya goddem at every light that you feel so inclined.
The cost of the 'stang will probably be less than what you're gonna godda pay to fix all the damage that you'll do to Stewie tryin' to drive it like a muscle car.
Be well.

You need to launch at whatever rpm will break your tires away on that surface. If you don't break the tires almost completely loose then you will get drivetrain shock that will break things or fry your clutch.

In hot weather w/S02s on concrete I launch at about 7,000. On asphalt I launch at about 6,000.

With BFGs I launched about a 1,000 rpms less. That tells you how much less sticky the BFGs were.

If you all more camber then you can launch at a lower rpm because you will have slightly less straight line traction.

As others have said, the S is much better in the corners!!!!!!!!!

Who knows? I wouldn't be caught at a drag strip anymore.

From almost a professional drag racer to a road course junkie.

According to Gtech I have beat the 5.5 0-60 that the car mags quoted.

Hmmmm, my first post never showed up.

I have no idea what my 60 foots would look like since I would almost rather be caught dead than on a drag strip.

From an almost professional drag racer to a road course junkie.

But according to my Gtech I have beat the 5.5 sec 0-60 times the magazines quoted.

mine breaks em loose at 4 grand with a hard drop i couldnt imagine trying to launch it at 7 grand it would never move. To get a good launch out of our cars I think it would be better to slip the clutch around 3500
