Hitch installed

Finally got around to installing the Hammerly S2000 hitch. Now I can tow my race tires and tools instead of having to drive to the events with them already on. I hated having to drive to road courses with them on since they tracks were over 3 hours away. Now up here in Idaho, the closest tracks are 6 hours away and I felt that was too far on race tires. The trailer is coming along, but won't be done for awhile.

I know for a FACT that the last year of production of the S2000 is 2003!!!!!
After that, it will be the S2200 under an assumed name.

The hitch is removable by taking out three pins. The brackets stay for easy reinstall.

No surprises Go. You do very neat work n' take a great set'a flicks.
Do you know (what a silly question!) what the hitch weighs?
Be well, n' thanks.

Actually I don't, but I will be taking it off tomorrow for this weekend's autoX (since the trailer isn't done yet), so I will try to remember to weigh it then.

Boy I would like to get hold of one of those hitches. I could pull one of my scooters to shows along with the S. A classic combo!

'Seen a Beemer with a sidecar pullin' a trailer that had another older (looked military) Beemer with a sidecar on it on the NYS Thruway.
A Stewie pullin' a Vespa? 'Wouldn't even draw attention ('ceptin' from those of us that appreciate Stewies and/or Vespas) Scoot.
Be well.

Any reason why the S2000 is not recommended for towing? Is it simply Honda doesn't want to specify a maximum weight so they just say "0"? The 'ol weak clutch thing? Problem with the frame?

Ten years ago I had a 1992 Corvette that had a max. tow capacity of 1,000 pounds. Lots of power, lots of torque, massive brakes, long wheelbase, and yet only 1,000 pounds towing. The reason was pretty simple: the back part of the frame used aluminum, not steel. Tow too much weight you bend that part of the frame.
