Awsome, that helps a lot. But which is better for DD and ocasional track visits: 4.44 4.56 or 4.77? Also, do have to change anything else out for the gear to work properly, or is it pretty much install and go?

HTG is Hardtopguy.
Yes, you have to get a speedo calibrator or your speedo will be WAY off.

Depending on your power level most owners like the 4.57s or 4.77s.
I found the 4.44s to be excellent when I was running a strong NA setup. With stock power the stock rear gears require a little gas to get going. Interestingly enough, with the lower gears, just the idle will get it going. It just takes a little more torque to get started with the factory gears and you can feel the difference starting out. IMHO, if you are running 400 rwhp or more you should stick with the factory gear ratio. Next for me is a set of 3.909s in a CT Engineering reinforced '08 carrier thanks to Bulletproof. |

I run 4.77's on a somewhat stock (header, catback, CAI) setup. Work well, but the gas mileage is a bit lower...

I didn't see a change when I went to 4.77's, but then I don't worry about my mileage when I drive the S.
