Laguna Seca today

Great HALF day at the track for me. I got in 3 awesome sessions. When I went out for the 4th session, I noticed a banging in my brakes. I pulled in after 1 lap and pulled the left front tire to find a cracked rotor. I had no spare so my day was done. I ran some great lap times though. I don't know what times I ran in the first session because my timer was not working properly, but I ran a 1:52.2, a 1:52.3 and a 1:52.0 with clear track in the second session. I know I ran a bunch of 1:55's in traffic and a 2:03 when behind a really slow car. In the 3rd session with John in the car, my best lap was a 1:52.5. I also ran a bunch of 1:54's and 1:55's.

John's day was not so good. He was having a problem with his car and ran a total of 3 laps. I felt bad for him so I wanted to take him out in my car to at least get some enjoyment in the day. Sorry, John!

I had a Corvette driver come up to me in the paddock say he was trying to keep up with me. He was driving an '02 Z06.

Just pulled the first session off the camera. My timer didn't record so I have to figure my times manually. Just looking at the video times, it looked I recorded several 1:53's when having a clear track. And I have to write them down because I must have mis-counted on one lap because I calculated a 1:46 and I think that is impossible. Great footage though.

Your brakes worked so good they broke. You were braking so late it was scaring me.

I think you might need to work on a cooling solution and allow for more drive around in the paddocks to let them cool more.

Yeah, I thought about that tonight. I wish I could have 2 cool down laps.

I am not certain what I will be doing as Friday will be a very long day for me, what with work then I need to drive to Carlsbad to lay down a pair of vocal tracks then head home from there and get up saturday at 6:00 to meet you guys ... or maybe go out to Tamiya Hell ... I don't know. Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain

Video of session 2 with sound. Best lap was 1:52 flat. Camera battery died before the session was over so it missed my fastest lap, but I also had two 1:52.2's and a 1:52.1 all in a row in laps 3-5.

Vinny needs some suspension mods, and he will be under the 1:50's.

Yeah, I saw that..lol. Larry was talking to me about the suspension he just got for his car. Apparently, a friend of his picked up 4 seconds/lap from it.

The GPS data showed me hitting more than 1.2 G's on some of the turns.

Oh...forgot to mention an important detail of the day. Killed an entire tank of 100 octane race fuel @ $7.50/gal. It was the best 85 miles I've ever driven. I must have averaged about 7 or 8 mpg.
