2nd Annual Summer BBQ

Last year, I hosted a BBQ in late August. There were about 35 people who attended which included family, friends, and fellow S2k owners. We had 9 S2k's show up. All were from S2KCA and 2 of them came from Arizona and Colorado. Looking to better the S2000 attendance this year.

This year, we are looking to host it again on Saturday August 25. I am going to invite all S2000 owners. So, if you're looking to hang out in sunny San Diego for a weekend and meet some great people. We'll probably do an S2000 photo of all that attend so wash Stewie before coming over.

I'll post more details as we get closer. It will likely be the same as last year. We'll provide food and beverages (burgers, dogs, & chicken, beer & soda) and if anyone wants to bring something else, they are welcome.

Where & how much? I'd love to drive down from Santa Barbara and hook up. Let us So Cal S2k bros know. I'm always up for a nice sunny drive with the top down.

Vinny,
I hope to make it there for our 2nd annual Vinny & Jen BBQ. I will try and arrange that all of us Murrieta S2K owners make it as well. You might want to start telling your neighbors now to put their personal vehicles in their driveway, so that we S2K owners have a place to park on your small cul de sac.

OK, the BBQ is a little over a month away. Although the house hasn't changed much, one thing I amexpecting to have up is the pool table in the next few weeks.

One suggestion I'm looking to get some feedback on is whether we should organize a drive early Sunday morning on August 26. My friend Perry and his family will be down for the weekend and a Sunday morning drive to Palomar Mountain with all the S2000's from Saturday might be a really fun idea. Let me hear what you think!

Little update here...looks to be a decent crowd this year. I was thinking of trying to organize a drive that weekend since Perry will be in town, but it won't be feasible to do on that morning when I'm sure there will be a ton of last minut prep and cleaning to do for the afternoon. We already have a drive scheduled for the 18th, so I'm not sure if anyone would want to go anyway.

OK...4 days away. The BBQ will start at 2 and end whenever. Guests can bring a dessert if they like and whatever alcoholic beverage they prefer. I'll buy something generic like Miller Lite.

The weather outlook for the weekend looks ok.

Saturday - Partly cloudy and a high of 78, might be a few degrees hotter since I am a little more inland. We'll have the air conditioner running in case it's too hot.

Sunday weather at Palomar Mountain and Julian shows a 30% chance of isolated t-storms with a high of 77. Hopefully, we'll avoid that.
