Palomar Drive, Sat May 26
Hey people,
I got phone call yesterday from some people looking to drive Palomar Mountain this Saturday morning. The plan is to meet at the same gas station as before (intersection of I-15 and the 76) at 8 AM, drive to Julian for breakfast and then run the Mountain in the opposite direction as last time. Should be a good drive since last time it was wet. Anyone interested, feel free to join us!

Well, I think I know what is wrong with my car, but still not certain. So far this week, I have changed my rear rotors and rear brakes, but the noise persists. Honda dealership couldn't replicate the noise, but I took a mechanic along for a ride and he heard it. He thought it sounded like a rub or the brakes. Today, my friend had me drive it while the rear was up on jackstands and he was underneath with a stethoscope listening to the wheel bearing and the differential. His diagnosis is the wheel bearing. He has a big job to do tonight and tomorrow so it's pretty doubtful my car will be finished for Saturday morning. BUT...he did say I would be fine still for the drive. Maybe I should draw up a will just in case I lose my wheel in a hairpin and go over a cliff??

When we all meet saturday there is a huge parking lot right next to that Mobil lets meet up in there that way we'll all fit

I have good news and bad news. The bad news is I can't drive the S. The wheel bearing (if that is what's wrong) sounds terrible and I don't feel safe driving a twisty mountain when the car has a problem.
The good news is my father-in-law is letting us borrow his 3-series BMW, so I'll be there after all.
