Driving to Palm Springs today!

My in-laws got a timeshare for Father's Day weekend in Palm Springs, so Jen and I are going with her whole family. Leaving around 2 PM this afternoon. We are taking the fun route over the mountains in the S while the rest of the family takes the freeway in the Sequoia. I'll tell Jen to bring her camera so she can take some pictures.

This was a fantastic trip. We drove north on the 15, exited the 79 to 371 to 74. We stopped for 20 minutes or so for an In N Out burger and were we there in 2.5 hours. We left late, around 6:15 PM and hit no traffic.

The ride home was even better. We left Palm Springs at 6 AM on Monday morning. Aside from being stuck behind some slow pickup trucks on some of the fun parts, it was clear sailing all the way home. Took 74 over the mountains to 371 and then took the 79 all the way down until it turned into the 67 and took that all the way down to the 8. I spent about 15 minutes total on interstates and we were home in 2.5 hrs. There's nothing like an open road and doing 70.

Well, the drive there was done at night and my wife slept most of the drive home, so I think she may have only taken 1 or 2 pictures. I'll have to check her camera.
