Palm Springs this year?

For the last 2 years, the San Diego Chapter has done a Saturday run to Palm Springs taking route 74 over the mountains, having lunch, then coming back and stopping at a casino buffet for dinner. The last part of the drive, going downhill into Palm Desert definitely rivals the South Grade of Palomar Mountain for being tight and twisty.

Traditionally, this drive occurs mid November. This year, I am going to have relatives in town on Nov 11, and will be doing a mini wine tour with Bay Area S2K people on Nov 17 and driving Sears Point Nov 18. November 4 or the Saturday after Thanksgiving (24th) looks like to be the most open days for everyone so far.

Anyone care to comment or give suggestions about this year's event?

Sounds like fun! im in desperate need of a drive. now that i have the new tires on its time to take em for a spin

The sat after Thanksgiving might be a good weekend, hopefully it isnt too cold! does anyone stay overnight? id love to crash at a hotel or something for a night and drive back sun if we can swing it. ive been to the doubletree alot and its pretty nice for the price.
