New Drive for October?

This morning, I went to a client who completely forgot I was coming today and was not prepared. As I got home, I remember Wasabiman talking about Otay Lakes Road going east towards Campo. Not having anything to do, I decided to go for a joy ride by myself today. I found some good roads. One was great, but a lot of broken up pavement. Still fun though, but not as good as Palomar. When I got home, I looked at a map and found even more roads in the area. Some look like they may rival Palomar, so Jen and I are about to print out the map and go explore the new roads. If they are as good as the map says, they will be fantastic. I'm just hoping they are paved! I'll be back later today with an update!

Well, I checked out the roads. I found some that were really cool and then dead-ended into dirt roads. The one road I was really looking for, I never found. I even asked the Border Patrol checkpoint and they didn't know. I was following CA-94 east. Jen and I went all the way to Campo and back. Turned out to be a 90 mile round trip. The one thing I did find on the ride home was a CHP who clocked me at 73 in a 55 So, it's off to traffic school for me sometime soon. Good thing he wasn't a few miles back where I hit a nice straight stretch going downhill and I took 4th gear to 120 miles per hour. I'd be sitting in jail right now if he had come over the hill with his radar blazing. Oh well.

Yeah, my 8 hour traffic school is coming up next month. I got it before Stewie, so I've been babying.

Don't do what I did, Vinny. I could have gone to traffic school for doing 21 over the posted, but I wanted to reduce the amount of the fine. Before I could even ask about dropping the dollar amount, he slammed the gavel down and said $190 fine and 30 day suspended license. I asked him about a restricted license for at least at work (I need to drive for fire patrol) and he said no. The Bailiff took my license right then and there.
I called DMV a couple of days later and asked about a restricted license and she couldn't believe it. She's never seen anything like it. I haven't had a ticket in about 12 years. But she also told me the suspension was only 10 days. My job had given me 5 days to get a restricted license or I would have been demoted out of my position until the suspension was over. By the time I got back to work after my weekend, my suspension was over.
All after all that, I ended up saving a whopping $12 in fine money.

GO TO TAFFIC SCHOOL WHENEVER YOU CAN!

Don't worry. I had no plans of taking it to court. It was a 2 lane road with him coming toward me as I came over a crest. I'd rather pay the ticket and have it wiped away from traffic school. I just have to be "good" for the next 18 months.
