January Drive

What Saturday would work for those wanting to make a run up to Idylwild or Palomar this month? This weekend is out because of the pending rain and the 12th is not good for me due to prior commitments. so it would be the 19th or 26th.Chime in.

Heya, I'm from Los Angeles here, But I'd be interested on the 26th. Gave myself that day off for a gathering at Eibach in Corona, but I would definitely be much more interested in a drive.

We usually meet up at the Mobil station at the intersection of the 15 and the 76 at 7 AM.

We could try that but ... if it is anywhere near as torn up like the last time we drove the first leg when Perry was down here, it could prove to be a rather frustrating and slow drive. What about Idylwild?

Someone2talk2: We usually meet up at the 15 / 76 junction for Palomar and off of Calif. Oaks in Murrieta for drives to Idylwild.

Morgan, you gonna be around for a possible Palomar drive on the 19th? It's the only day I can get a drive in, and I'm probably heading up there with one of my buddies who drives an 05 GTO supercharged. Vinny, I'll give you a call when I get back later this week to give you back your 2way radio.

At this point, my week is filled with the exception for Friday morning and I leave for Phoenix around 6 PM. If anything, you could put it in a tiny box and leave it at my doorstep any day and either my wife and I or my stepdaughter will get it.

Well I think Idylwild might be fun since Morg has not been up there yet and someone2talk2 is closer to that destination. And don't worry Vin, when I buy my 3rd S2000 I will let you drive my CR

PS Just had my 01's alignment done at West End and WOW! this car is so grippy now its SCARY! Iam still up for the 26th.

Whatever happend to Tim?? he was one of the core members for the runs (core members Me, Vinny, John, Mike (now without his "S" but still part of the gang) and if I left someone out sorry)

and whats the roads like? If we go to Idylwild where are we meeting, up by you John?

Hey Morg,
Yea if we do Idylwild we would meet off of the Calif. Oaks exit at the Comfort Inn. at 7:00 am. The road is not as twisty as Palomar but there are some curves that can fool you. They do have numerous passing lanes both ascending and decending the mountain. The Idylwild Cafe has a pretty good Breakfast too. I am up for either one so let me know what everyone else would like to do.

Cops? Do you think there will be cops out there? Please...no more cops...my insurance just doubled on my S because of that ticket last year.

Glad to see you guys around again. I think we are going to do Idyllwild (and maybe Palm Springs), so we'll meet in the shopping center off the Cal Oaks exit of the 15 which is north of the 15/215 split.

No Rain as of yet here in Anaheim where I work, but it does not look good for Saturday at this time. Forecast that I checked says Rain w/thunderstorms for Saturday in the Temecula Valley and that would mean snow in Idylwild and maybe even Palomar. Lets keep an eye on the weather and remain "tenative" for Saturday. Everyone check back on Friday and we can make the call then.
