3rd Annual Summer BBQ

Just beginning the planning stages of this annual August event. Thinking of doing the same idea as last year, having the BBQ on Saturday afternoon and then a drive Sunday morning incorporating all the great roads we've been driving lately and breakfast in Julian.

The weekend has traditionally taken place at the end of August. August 30-31 is Labor Day Weekend and mostly everyone will have off Monday. Anyone have a suggestion of when it should be?

I didn't take any pictures. I took video of most of the run, but upon viewing it, the focus was all screwed up, so none of it came out.

There's a Holiday Inn Express a few miles from my house.

I have stayed in the Best Western in Chula Vista,as a matter of fact I have a ticket to the Chargers pre-season game Aug 9.I might stay there and take the tolley to the game.If your not to far away Vinney maybe I can stop by and say HI!

Trying to think about where that is. That might be closer to old Chula Juana. I am 5 miles east in new Chula Juana.

It was on E streeet right by the trolley station.My friend showed me that Best Western when we went to Mexico.If you know any motels on the trolley route to Qualcom please let me know.But I can stay close to the BBQ cause I would like to drink some beer but don't want to drive.

If you can see the hotel from the 805 and E Street, then you are 7-10 miles from my house. It's easiest to go to Olympic Parkway (3 exits further from E) and then 5 miles east.

It's actually the next exit down on Main Street. I don't know if the trolley is near that though.

Are you going to be in town job searching? When I was looking to move back in '01, I found that it was impossible to get a job when not already living here. I applied and sent resumes for 5 months without a single response in return. I had to move here first.

I am doing contract work currently and am in Taiwan. If my bronchitis goes away and I can stay until the end of July, I'll be set for a few months to start job searching in the semiconductor industry. There is some stuff happening in Newbury Park and it might require being there to have a chance.

My parents both lived in Cali got married then for some reason moved here to Chicago...Where we have no family what so ever....

Starting to get close to the date. I guess it's time to start planning. I'll probably get a pack of frozen burgers and some hot dogs. The specialty will be the marinated chicken and pork tenderloins (yummy!). Jen is going to get a tray of lumpia from the Filipino food store, unless her and Andie want to spend hours rolling them again or if she can get her grandma to make them. I'll get a couple of different kinds of soda. Michelle said she will bring some wine. I guess everyone else can bring beer if they want and a dessert.

Also, bring a clean Stewie so we can get a good picture of the lineup.
