As of today it is still on for the 26th Idylwild or Jullian? Where do we want to go?

I can't decide on the R-compounds or the Goodyears for Saturday. My left front has taken a beating from our drives. I'm apparently harder on right hand turns, but my rear R-compounds are almost slicks and I have a track day in 5 weeks.

Yeah, we had a good drive. Also had a few moments where things could have gone massively wrong too.

To start off, as we were going up South Grade Rd, a motorcycle coming down decided he needed to use all of the road and almost wound up as a hood ornament on Morgan's car.

A little further, Morgan found out how badly he needs rear tires by almost losing the rear end.

On Mesa Grande, I had some schmuck in a Ford Explorer have the same thinking as the motorcycle rider and took up half of my lane as I was entering a right-hander. I had to go up onto the very small shoulder to avoid losing in a head-on. I stopped after the turn because my hands were shaking and we also had a slow pickup in front of us. I yelled some usual east coast pleasantries at the guy as I passed.

After the restart, Morgan got a good lesson in understeer as we went into a tight right-hander and from my rearview, Morgan's front tires just plowed. Thank God for no oncoming vehicles.

We all finished up Mesa Grande's last part, the "drag strip", letting it all hang out. I came out of the last hairpin at about 35 in 2nd gear and vtec'd all the way to 132.
