December Drive - Sat Dec 13 & 27

Throwing out there the idea of doing a drive on Saturday, December 27. My parents are going to be in town and Jen and I want to take them and Jen's parents to Julian for breakfast. I thought it would be a cool idea to organize a drive that day. My father could ride with me and my mom and Jen's parents will ride in Jen's Sequoia and meet us in Julian. Not sure if there will be snow on Palomar, but I could always call the post office there the day before and ask the clerk how the roads are

After breakfast, I would probably stay back with everyone else as you guys do the second part of the drive.

Let me know who's interested.

I need to drive my car. I have been driving my son's ford focus every day and it is so slow. it is very busy at work right now I have been working six days a week. if I can get the day off I would like to go. great video btw

I'm supposed to go out in the afternoon with a bunch of friends, so I don't think I would get back in time if I went for a drive.

Weather says possible rain. Couple of guys from s2ki showed some interest too. I'll be running my normal street tires. The R compounds are low on tread so they will be worthless in the wet.

I am not certain about this one as the temp is dropping and with rain on the way, the last thing I want to do is turn my S into an uncontrollable "bobsled". Especially after all the threads of S2000s on various sites being wrecked due to rain or snow in recent days around the country.

Hey Dudes I don't know about Palomar Mtns. but up here they say SNOW 2500ft. better put on the chains on! Hey Vinny I'll bring my snowboard and we can tie a rope to your tow hook and pull me up the mountain. LOL!

The forecast for Julian in the morning is rain, how about we meet up at Penfolds Cafe off of Ranch Calif / 15 and Jefferson for breakfast and hang out?

I'm up for it except I have a bunch of s2ki guys still looking to drive. I volunteered to be the coordinator and it's hard for me to bail unless I call it off.

I called it off on S2ki. I have 2 big projects I can work on and make some money and then I am going out with friends in the afternoon with Jen, so I am going to skip breakfast. I really don't feel like driving in the rain.

I'm in for Saturday with my dad riding shotgun as long as the weather cooperates.

I may call the Palomar Mountain post office and ask them their Saturday hours and then road conditions on Friday just so they give a serious answer and not be viewed as just some "fast driver" trying to get a report.

I was the only one to show up from here along with a few guys from S2ki. It was a good drive. East Grade had some ice on it, so we drove pretty conservatively down that side. I hit a pretty good patch of gravel and got sideways on Wynola Rd, but nothing major. The temp started out at 40 and steadily dropped to 32 by the time we got to Julian. Only 1 guy of 7 had the top down.
