Buttonwillow - Sat June 6

This just may be a no-brainer for me at only $99. I received new rotors today and just ordered new calipers. Now I just need to get new race pads.

Chaz, Buttonwillow is a really fun track. I like it better than Streets because it's faster and I think it's more exciting and a little more challenging than Big Willow.

I might go to hang out. Don't think I will have my car back from the shop by then.

Which car?

I'll have my rotors and calipers done this coming week. I also need to see if my sub-frames have moved. Alignment place was not even close to being able to get the UK specs I wanted. Also need to replace my brake fluid since I mixed Motul and ATE after the last event and I need to buy new front pads.

Going to try the Cobalt Racing XR2. Larry said they are better than the GT Sports which I had on the car when you rode with me at SP a year ago.

I just checked something and now I might not be able to go.

For convertibles, you must pass the broomstick test. If you only have stock roll equipment then put a broomstick from the top of the rollbar to the top of the windshield. If you fit under it with your helmit on, you're good to go. I'm about an inch too tall.

John, I know you would never make it.

The S2000 is out for a few thousand $$$ worth of reasons. I would have to ditch the seat to pass a broomstick test, too.

I am going to be real busy at work for the next 2 months, so I am sending the Miata out for some work. I don't want to see it until I have time to mess with it again.

Yeah, I just tried different positions. The closest I got was moving the seat all the way up to the point where I couldn’t lift my legs to put on the pedals because the dash was in the way of my knees and the back reclined all the way. My helmet was just touching the stick enough to move it still. Looks like I’m a no-go, unless I find seat rails that lower me.

What are they going to have Midget racers, I can't even pass at 5'5" with a helmet. Maybe there are some spots left at Willow Memorial Day. Do that run!

I think a 911 blew a radiator hose in a real bad spot.

To answer your question, I believe I will be in China that weekend. Even if I am back by then, I will be working weekends for the next month.

Bummer Dude, I hate working weekends. Anyway what do you guys think of this idea, If I were to wear my cell phone earpiece and have someone in the bleachers on the phone with me watching the track to advise me of a wreck or crap on the track.

SOW may be the only track that would work at. Every other track has huge blind spots that can not be seen from any one position. Maybe the top of T3 at Big Willow provides a good view. Buttonwillow is too spread out and Laguna and Infineon have big elevation changes that obstruct the view of most of the track.

Do you think spotting is good at that area? My friend said he did it with no problem on a cell phone.

I believe that if you have a professional flag crew working and you have 100% awareness, you should be fine on your own.

Finally some good news! LOL I did talk to the organizer a couple of nights ago and he told me we can have spotters but of course not on the track. I think it might be fun to try it out!
