New Speeding Cameras in Phoenix

I was going 85 on the 101 when I noticed a new camera. I didn't know if it was operational yet, but that's pretty scary because it's kind of a running joke that the speed limit on the 101 is 101, and I've often gone 100+ on that same road! So i did a little online-research and this is what I found:

according to abc15.com on Oct. 7,

The following sites are expected to be operation by Oct. 17th:

Eastbound I-10 @ 287th Ave
Eastbound I-10 @ Miller
Eastbound I-10 @ Watson
Southbound SR-101 @ McDowell Rd.
Southbound SR-101 @ Indian School
Southbound SR-101 @ Bethany Home
Eastbound SR-101 @ 75th Ave
Eastbound SR-101 @ 59th Ave
Eastbound SR-101 @ 35th Ave

You'll get a ticket if caught giong 10 miles over the limit.

Whew! I still haven't taken care of a photo red-light ticket yet!
Big Brother, on this day I vow: I will no longer speed!

Do those cameras take a picture of the front plate? or rear? I assume it's the front so they can get a mugshot as well, but what happens if you don't have a front plate? The fine for no front plate must be better than the fine for speeding, yes? no? somebody clear this up for me!

The systems I've seen take a simultaneous shot of the front and rear to get the driver and/or front plate and the rear plate.

Man that SUCKS!! If they ever decide to invest in speed cameras in Houston I promise I will sell my car. What would be the point in driving it anymore if I can't drive "spiritedly" every now and then on the freeway. It wouldn't be fun to drive anymore. I'd trade in my S and get a Buick station wagon, old bus, dump truck or something. I'm dead serious!

I don't know about whoville, but they're already using them other places in Texas. My boss got a call from his wife a couple months ago telling she'd just opened the mail a found a really nice picture of him sitting in his truck with an inset picture of the radar unit showing he was doing 70 in a 55. There was also a bill for $300 for the ticket. Parker County I think.
