Info on Houston S2000 Meets/GTGs

I've seen a few posts in the past here asking about GTGs with no response. Just to introduce myself, my name is Tom (aka medicalstudent; Doctor Mugen) and I was the Chapter Director for Lone Star (Houston chapter of S2KCA - S2000 Club of America) and the Community Organizer for Houstooks (Houston chapter of S2KI - S2000 International). After 14 long months, I recently retired from both S2000 communities and will likely not post as often on here or any of the other forums. But I do want to leave this post as an informative one for anybody who's looking for an excuse to hang out. As some of you may already know, there's virtually FOUR Houston S2000 groups: s2000.com, s2kca, s2ki, and houston-imports.

1) S2KCA (S2000 Club of America): http://forums.s2kca.com/forumdisplay.php?f=112 The Lone Star Chapter of S2KCA has about 69 fully paid members along with an additional 80+ guests.

We also have regular chapter meetings as well: All Lone Star Chapter Bimonthly meetings will be held on the 2nd Saturday of every other month at Chili's on Westheimer - 8PM

2) S2KI (S2000 International): http://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showforum=53 The Houstooks chapter has about 20 fully paid members along with an additional 90+ guests.

3) Houston-Imports: www.houston-imports.com This is a general car forum dedicated more towards the younger crowd. Many S2000 enthusiasts post on there. There are always numerous general car meets at any given moment.

I'm not here to try to divert owners from here to either s2kca or s2ki. Just throwing an FYI for y'all. I would like to encourage owners here to set-up their own meets and get-togethers on s2000.com, even if it's just a small get-together between 2 S2000 owners. Announce a meet at some restaurant that you wouldn't mind eating at by yourself just in case nobody shows up and it wouldn't be a waste of your time. Either do it at a restaurant or throw a happy hour at a bar. It's too damned quiet in here IMHO.
