Bought my first S2000 Monday!!

Hey people, just joining forums now that I have my new baby 04 S2000, 20K. I am soo excited, i've been wanting this car for almost a year but was waiting to try and find a good deal during the winter since they are harder to sell and easier to haggle on pricing.

Oops, sorry about calling you "man" lol. There are a bunch of car meets up there, one is on thurs at like 10:00 at the movie theater area on Heubner oaks road, and iv heard there is a nicer meet on fridays, but im not sure where it is.

Sounds like a pretty good idea, i know there are a group of about four s2000's that i saw at a meet one time.

i am such a dork, but I dont care, I just wanna say I <3 driving this car. This is my 3rd manual car, previous cars, eclipse, tiburon, but OMG, this takes the cake. I didnt even test drive the car ever until the day I bought it, I just knew this was the one...

I just wanna get it up there in speed and it is KILLING me that I havent had the chance to push her and see what she can do. I love the way it feels and the power under me of how she can get up and go. I'm still getting use to the handeling around corners and what not, different from my previous cars, but eh...

Just wanted to voice it!!! LOL

Sounds like youre having a blast, just be careful, it can be pretty touchy in the corners, and it took me a few track days and autoX's to get used to it.

Congrats, that 04 looks like it's perfect! Have fun, the power is awesome at low speeds, too, just watch the oversteer - learn it before you need it. Welcome to our site!

If you really want to get a feel for your S and push her you should come out to some of the autocross events! There's one this Sunday Feb 1st. $25 for non SASCA Members.

yeah one of my friends is bugging me to go to that thing on Sunday, but its going to be like 40 degrees and raining and I am so little and HATE freezing cold weather, I promised him I'd come take pics and possibly drive at the next one once I get more comfortable with my car and I REALLY dont feel like making an a$$ of myself just yet, b/c I have NEVER driven like that and i just watched people last time I was there back in Sept/Oct when I was there with some BMER driving friends...

Haha! I wouldn't worry about making an ass out yourself, I spun out several times on my first event, but i eventually got a feel for her and everything goes smoothe from their. Everyone is very friendly and helpful try to get as much seat time as possible with experienced drivers (both gals and guys) in similar vehicles. Its fun to sit as the pasenger and attempt to "observe", ask lots of questions and have people sit as your passenger, they will offer great advice and tips! everyone there is a petrol/gear head and don't mind helping out! Its really a great no pressure self paced introduction to driving! There are always alot of novice drivers (including me I have to get first place one more time and i move up.)

If it rains i probably won't go!!
If you don't feel like driving you should at least come up in your S and get some seat time with other drivers!!
Slowly the amount of S2K's is catching up to the Miata's!
I'll be in the 05 Rio, My number should be NBSP07!

if i go i'll post it, i've been once already when i owned my tiburon, but didnt drive it there, i rode in some pretty cool cars last time a porsche cayman s, lotus, s2000, an a bunch of bmers, cant remember any others atm...

as far as making an ass of myself, yeah i will so do that, when we were there last time and I was riding i got soo confused with the cones and route... you'll see me all over the place.

I know its abit of a drive, but next weekend up here in college station we are having an autox event. since its the first one of the season, on the sat. there will be free driving classes, and you get to drive the course as much as you want, then on the sun. is the actuall competition.
