All the guys I talked to were great. Of course, the GT40 owner was a dealer-- he probably assumed I had money, so he had to be nice! The Italia owner and I talked for a good half hour.

Didn't talk to the Z8 guys (there were at least two others there)... but yeah, they sure are beautiful cars. I see those things and think of a modern-day E-Type.

I'd never seen the new Alfa Romeo before. Forget about MSRP... there's no telling how much that thing cost.

But yeah... I was definitely like a kid in the candy shop. Who knew there were nice cars in Dallas?

z8 = ~$130k, not too expensive compared to the 360s, 430s, gallardos and the countach that was parked over there, esp if you adjust for inflation.

oh, you meant the alfa, alfa is ~$150k

I think the Alfa MSRP was closer to ~ $250k. But with only 500 copies total (less than 100 shipped to the US), I doubt you could touch it for that. But then again, I don't even have enough money to ask how much it costs.

looks like the article i read was before msrp was set...i found this searching:

NEW 2008 ALFA ROMEO 8C COMPETIZIONE RED/BLACK MSRP $289,515-$20,000
NEW 2008 ALFA ROMEO 8C COMPETIZIONE RED MET./RED MSRP $294,550-$20,000
NEW 2008 ALFA ROMEO 8C COMPETIZIONE YELLOW/BLACK MSRP $289,515-$20,000

i dunno what the $20k is but its a drop in the bucket for a $300,000 car

And don't forget about the Lotus. Owner was claiming 1400 lbs and 300hp. Think that might be a blast at the track?
