Greetings MakeCopies,

I guess the answer to your question all depends on what you're callin winter......S2000 is a no-go where I live.

Drove last winter here in NJ. Not much of a winter, had one day with ice/snow that was kind of sketchy. I would not want to drive in that again.

I was on Yokos Advan s4's all-seasons. I think this winter I'm going to go for the winter Dunlop M3's I hear good things about them.

XVIPER, over at S2KCA has video of him and a few buddies playing in the snow with their S's. A proper winter tire, such as the Blizzak goes a long way. Don't drive a summer tire in the winter. Even if there's no snow or ice on the ground a summer tire will be slippery, due to the tread compound being hard, as it can't warm up enough to provide tracktion.

The SP8000's I'm running are pretty slippery in the summer mornings.

Hey we get real winters here in California. In December, we had some daytime highs in the 50's...BRRRRR!. I had to turn the heat on with the top down.

Yes, some of us drive them in the winter. For me, the roads need to be clear, but the temperature is optional.
Java, you knew this photo was coming back:

I know for a FACT that the last year of production of the S2000 is 2003!!!!!
After that, it will be the S2200 under an assumed name.

I remember that picture. Smart people in Idaho. They put those orange signs up in case you want to avoid the 20 degree weather.

(As far as I know, Go still holds the record for topless driving in subfreezing conditions. Any challengers this winter?)

Not fer nothin' Go . . yuh doo the deed, yuh deserve the credit ('r, 'z'inn'a case'a most'a my localz . . the jail-time) Someday somebody'z gonna take yer crown . . budd'itt ain't gonna be me'n it probably ain't gonna be anytime soon, y'know?
I've godd'a "topless" picture that I'm sorely tempted ta post . . but I spec'tz that the well-endowed young lady in'a Beemer wuzzn't 'zackly in winter.
(Oh. I see we're all well informed'n know the flicks of which I speak. Such'a well-informed' educated bunch'a folks on'iss site.)

N' Walker . . the wizardz at the 'Rack recommended the Dunlop WinterSportz over the Blizzakz'n after 3 yearz'a questionalble Joisey winters with excursions into the more seriously snowed upon areas of upstate NY'n PA, they're tenacious.
Jus' keep in mind that the best snow tires in'a world ain't gonna doo diddly when the snow'z deep enough ta have Stewie's chin'n understuff plowin'.

Yeah I do. i don't have a choice, shes my only ride. It's not so bad. Just have to wash her more often and that can get cold but you don't want that salt on to stay on her.

I wish I still had pictures of me on the highway with the top down in one of the worst storms of the year. My snowboard only fits in the car if the top is down.

Lowest temperature driven with the top down: 35 degress F. And it wasn't long before I put the top up. I wasn't cold or anything I just didn't want to hurt the interior with the cold temeratures........yeh......yeh thats it; thats why I put the top up.

Joe, maybe you should'a been warned:
it's adviseable ta have a weldin' hood'n shield on when you're about to view Go'z "Stiletto".
He keepz postin' flicks'n the site might be legally responsible fer providin' all memberz with said eye-protection.
(I personally think the guy'z'n ex-special f/x type in the witness protection program posin'z'a normal person who goes out in tee-shirts in sub-zero tempz.)

Nothing like that. Over on S2KI, they were having a contest to get a "Polar Club" badge. You were suppose to drive around on January 20th (historically, the coldest day of the year across the nation) with no jacket and the top down. We happened to have this sign in town so I stopped and took a picture for proof. That sign is gone now since the back switched hands.

I just got my CR but in SC I plan to drive everyday but it only snows maybe a total of one to two weeks a year hear. When I first got my CR the salesman told me that I should not drive with the standard tires in the rain but I have driven in all kinds of rain without a problem. That's why I like the hardtop on the CR for the winter and rain driving. Good luck.
