here a few but it's ur car

on the S weight is the enemy. Adding it is counter productive

possibility of wear and chipping paint (seen it happen)

IMO no bang for the buck a nice set of rims/tires/or any real performance upgrade are money better spent

Pulled over and arrested a guy about a month or so ago. He was driving a 94 Chevy 1500 pick-up. He paid $2000 for the truck, $400 for the black paint (originally red), $2000 for 24" rims, and installed a 2005 front end. But what topped it off was when he got out of the truck and the door swung up (Lambo-style). He had no license nor insurance, thus the reason he had warrants. It was at that point when I couldn't resist telling the guy that he was a dumbass.

Point of the story is that if you want people to do a double take when they see you getting out of your car, don't get Lambo doors. They will think differently of you and not in a good way.

If you really want the attention, get a loud Hawaiian shirt. It's cheaper.

^^^ Thats the best advise you could give him RL, you either like it ricy, or you like it clean. I personally would not do lambo doors, they only look good on a lambo.

My suggestion would be not to do it, but if you like it, go for it.

I bet driving with those doors open would really screw with your high speed handling.

getting out of these cars is not that easy due to the low height of the top. lambo doors would make it even more difficult...

that would be my thought. but if you want 'em, go for it. clearly you would be one of the few. it's no less ricey than the cheap fart cans used for the exhaust that some members here have.

All of the worries we've had about the S2k becoming affordable to anyone are coming true. I wonder when we'll start getting threads titled "What color neon lights should I install?".

there are a few brands that sound especially ricey. like the muffler shop specials that are welded onto the back of a neon or civic.

You can react any way you want to -to each his own.

My reaction will simply be disappointment that we'll now be seeing more and more gaudy riced out s2k's driven by people who don't know or care about the S2k's purebred heritage. To each his own.

well I have to say most "ricers" around here have their front bumpers ripped off cause they cant drive... so shame some poor S might end up crashed cause of it.... but its fewer possers

ive been on s2k forums years before this and just because the owners were older didnt mean they were far from rice. all that jdm bs that everyone buys into... ugly cf hoods, fenders & wings on cars that would never see the track.

OH BUT ITS COOL CUZ THEY DO THIS IN JAPAN!

Finally someone talks trash on jdm. I love it im not the only one. JDM is the biggest joke of them all. These "jdm" guys are worse than ricers. I wish I owned a mustang so I could put a I heart ADM sticker on it.

It doesn't matter how old you are or what brand of overpriced crap you buy, rice is subjective. Some people think "performance mods" like Lambo doors, body kits and neon lights aren't rice, others do. I've never seen a JDM cf hood on any stock JDM car.

JDM is not a brand name for aftermarket parts, JDM simply means a product that was produced in Japan...any product be it cars, stereos, hello kitty dolls etc...Maybe you meant to say MUGEN instead of JDM, because most of the JDM and EDM spec'ed cars have better performance than their American counterparts. Not true with the s2k, but for example the JDM H22 Prelude produces 30 more horses than the USDM H22 Prelude, IMO that makes the USDM spec'ed cars the biggest joke.

If you ask me the top yellow S is RICE, The bottom one is JDM.. Also a car you would 100% see on a track, real JDM is true race japan stuff. There may be ricers saying things are JDM.. I dunno you guys against JDM would you say your against that mugen S?

Any modification that adds little or no performance to any Japanese car is RICE. For instance, adding a wing to the ass-end of a FWD Honda is RICE. Adding the weight, complexity and expense of Lambo doors is a bumper crop of RICE.

The only subjectivity is whether or not you like rice.

To the OP... Before you do it, I'd suggest waiting a few weeks to see whether or not you enjoy having water-tight seals. If it's not that important... then go for it.

LAMBO DOORS! ARE YOU OUT OFF YOUR "F"ING MIND?

Spend the money on a driving school and learn the limits off the S2000 while honing yours. Maybe then we won't see you back here in a few months with a "Parting out My S2000" Post. Geez...Lambo doors? Whiskey Tango Foxtrot!

S2000isu its not like those vents are just for show they are functional, the front part is for there intake as well but you may already know that, as well as the front bumper is built to work with the intake.. Wheels are very light, hardtop helps reduce weight and aerodynamics, besides gutting it what else could you ask for from a track car? At least thats you can tell is not done from the pic?

It has stock brakes, no cage, is all that venting really needed for a na s2000 and if it is why do they then have a plate infront of the rad. Its not a bad looking s2000 besides the paint and the hood is kinda funny. Just dont know if id call it true race jap stuff haha. My jdm problem is not with mugen or spoon or any of that despite what I think of them. I am simply stating the kids that put the pink wheels on there car and a pink tow hook and say its jdm dawg crack me up.

LOL the member that posted this has only posted 8 times... You guys started him out ruff lol. I'm gonna take the high road here and really give this guy the advice he was looking for us to offer.

Dear Pata777,
please don't do it due to the simple fact it will only be for looking and can cause a wide array of issue later, but if you must a link is below. I would like to add this is a true sports u have not a Civic hatch with a b18c with a 1.6 vtec head the car was built to be bad ass on the back roads not to be a drag or show queen. With this in mind remember it's ur car but we all seem to love the "S" lighter and faster with just a touch of rice here in there (yes, rice. CF hoods are rice but damn they look good, the AL hood from factory are lighter then most u can buy) So ask urself do I wanna blow my money to let someone in a parkinglot see how my doors open?

Hey Dmaye,

Thanks for the good advice. This is my first true sports car. I looked and compared the 350z, bmw m3, audi tt and the infinity g35 before i bought the s2k. I liked how the s2k handled, looked and feel on the open NC country roads. At this point I don't think I'm going to do lambo doors, it was just a thought. I'm really considering engine work, more of how the air flows through the engine. Ok, thanks for being a friend.

Not a problem If u have any question just ask and there is also a huge amount of info from post past.

I've drove them all the cars mentioned above and they're all great (S is the Best)also really like the M3 but damn at the money!!

as far as engine work goes the best bet and I'm sure most will agree is a pipe 70mm and above and a good FI (Forced Induction) kit. I personally like the GReddy kit but that's just me. It's cheap, reliable, easy to install, and if u have a grand saved back for the lambo doors ur a quarter of the way there at only 4.3K. (must be nice, I'm a poor man after Obama's gun craze, over 5k in guns/ammo in the last 3 months)

Oh and these guys on here can be ruthless, and some seem to be a bit condescending. As we say here in Alabama though "I guess they're good ppl" though
