deposit on '05

I got to test drive an '05 all day today , the car has 25,200 miles (black) Love the car but have a couple of questions, it pulls hard to the right when accelerating and corrects it self when you let off. Also the top has a 2" rip in it. Is there an easy fix or do you have to replace the whole top at what price.

A top costs about $700 plus install. As to pulling under acceleration could an alignment issue or some other suspension problem.

Could also be tire problems.

I thought $17,500 for this car would be a good deal but if a top is $700 and 7.5 hrs labor plus the pulling issue, I,m getting cold feet. I keep the car til Monday w/ a refundable deposit. what do ya'll think?

I say try to squeeze the dealer for the cost of the top. If you can get the dealer to at least meet you half way with the cost; go for it, otherwise I say consider walking away. If he wants the sale he should work with you.

I'd take it to a mechanic and have it checked over. Find out why it pulls. Make sure the frame is straight.

Yes, they go all the way down. Again, the dealer should be able to take care of this. You do have a few good barganing things here tho. But like Phil says, take it to a mechanic and/or tire shop tomorrow.

Maybe aftermarket door speakers are in the window path? Happened to me on a former car when I got bigger speakers.
