Should I hold off buying this
'05 and look for an '06 to get the drive by wire , Vehicle Stability Assist and other updates?

VSA is a nice feature, but the '06 has a few other different things as well. Check the thread that shows changes over the years. It's pretty much a buyer's market, so the best deal is probably the best deciding factor.

Drive them both and then buy whichever one you like better.

I have an 06 s2k i love it... except for VSA its cool to have if your not in to cornering on the streets and you just want to take it easy and be 100% safe but if you ever forget to turn it off and your feeling like driving spiritedly it sucks really bad... i never ride with it on.
also for some reason 06 s2ks have alot of problems me and my friend both had are transmissions pretty much fail and differentials blow. there is a tsb on the trans and i had a warranty when the diffy blew so I'm good for now... lol |

Damn, major trans and diff problems in a 2006? And with 153 lbs of torque?!?! Weak. Are you side-stepping the clutch at 9000?

If there's a TSB on the tranny you should post it because the only TSB I can find is this one regarding the reduction in load capacity and it's for all Honda vehicles. http://www.allworldauto.com/tsbs/NHT...in_268596.html Honda notifies owners on any and all recalls and TSBs so I smell smoke here... Buy what you like. I'd get an 09 if I could, last model year.

I know its early in the game to think about this, but if you think you may have any interest in going FI.. turbo or supercharged even way down the road im pretty sure its much harder with the drive by wire not as many kits cater to it.
