For Sale - 2002 S2000 Partially Race Modified

For sale: 2002 Honda S2000 convertible, 19k miles, Sebring silver, factory CD player/stereo system, partially race modified, street driven only (hasn’t been raced). Interior colors – red dashboard; black seats, steering and trim. Original owner, clean title. Car has a small dent on the passenger side door that can be repaired.

S2000 features and the following racing modifications were performed by the owner’s company, SpectorRacing Motorsports:

• Four wheel disc brakes (Honda factory racing brakes – strong).
• Hawk Performance brake pads.
• Front end cowl inducted ram air brake coolers.
• Has active ABS system.
• A custom bent and fitted, silver 6 point moly/chromium cage with dash bars and cross bars that has been tig welded into the chassis. Built according to SCCA specs.
• Has Kirkey Racing Seats
• Red racing harnesses - buyer has choice of G-FORCE Harnesses 6 point cam lock or latch link.
• The car has been race lightened and all unnecessary items have been removed from the engine compartment.
• The drive train has been checked and is in perfect order
• AC unit and the power top are fully functional.
• Have all original paneling, seats, etc.
• In all, over $8000 in equipment and labor have been invested thus far.

As it now sits, the S2000 is currently street legal. The car is SCCA T2 class legal (and SCCA GCR) to the best of our knowledge. It would make a good street car, a track day car, a T2 class SCCA race car, a NASA unlimited car, or a NASA Honda challenge car.

The car is located in South China, Maine, not too far from Augusta. Asking price - $37,950.

The owner and SpectorRacing Motorsports also offers the following options should an interested buyer wish to continue adding racing improvements:

Option 1 – World Challenger Car (total $130,000)
The options are almost unlimited regarding what can be added/modified, and a buyer could choose the following add-ons:

Vortec supper charger, vortec fuel rail, vortec fuel pump, larger fuel lines, larger injectors, Kony race-tuned shocks, camber plates on the upper shock towers, front and rear upper sway bars, remove AC unit, cross drill and slot plated rotors for all four wheels, polished cold air intake, cold air sensor mod, advanced timing, factory manual, rear spoiler, 8X18 racing rims (TOYO racing rubber not included), decal kit, 5 LBS on board automatic fire suppression system for the engine, fuel, and driver compartments, tested at New Hampshire International Speedway - then race tuned for maximum performance.

Once complete, the car will be pushing 475 HP and about 300 ft-lbs of torque.
In addition, the buyer would also receive 5% off all purchases from SpectorRacing Motorsports for the length of the time they own the car (includes suits, helmets, tools, etc.).

Option 2 – NO2 System (add $300)
A nitrous oxide system can be added (not SCCA or NASA legal)

Option 3 – Millennium Body Kit (add $1200)
Can add the Millennium 6 piece body kit and/or a carbon fiber hood manufactured by Top Secret (would need approval by SCCA PRO but that is an easy item normally to get done).

Photos are available by email. Serious inquiries only. If interested, please contact Marvin Hendricks at (20 466-7755 MST or by email at marvin@millennium-marketing-solutions.com.

Sounds like a sweet ride you built. Out of curiousity, why did you spend thousands of dollars modifying it for racing if you said this car "hasn't been raced, only street dirven?" After all the hard hours of labor, why do want to sell it. I spoke to a representative from Evoultion Auto who emailed me a dyno test for the Vortech supercharger. He showed me that 298.6 hp to the wheels at 7lbs. of boost is the total gain. Could you inform me where you came up with 475 hp? Thank you for your time.

475 HP Projection Detailed Out

JayN,

Thanks for your post. I got Ralph w/SPECTORracing Motorsports that owns the car to answer the questions you had. As listed below:

Currently the S2000 is an SCCA T2 class and NASA Honda challenge class racecar. The car is still street drivable in most states.

It was built originally to participate in promotional activities for SPECTORracing Motorsports.

We?re plan to sell the car before the spring comes in Maine, or we?ll continue to use it for promotional activities during the 2004 season.

The base price as it now sits (T2 class) has been lowered a couple of times recently to $26,950 (from $37,950). (A newer thread that gives additional information and the price reduction can be seen here at http://www.s2000.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=237)

The horsepower number of 475 hp is projected; this is what my shop could build the car to (if needed) for an additional cost. This number is also BHP.

To get numbers to the wheels there are several things we can do:

? Use all Motul V300 oils, and other synthetic racing lubricants to lower the parasitic drag.
? Space the brakes from the rotors to again lower the parasitic drag.

Then we would start making modifications like:

? Go w/lighter fly wheel
? 0 deck the heads
? Advance the timing and install an MSD after the VTEC
? Install the complete Vortech supercharger system (fuel rails, pump, etc)
? Install high flow fuel pump (one of the weakest points on S2000 horse power)
? Lighten the pulleys on a CNC
? Port a polish the head and manifold
? Use a "head riser" to lower the compression and increase combustion space
? Then increase the boost accordingly to the lower compression ratio (massive gain)
? Build twin cowl induction ram air scoops with aircraft silicone hose to feed the supercharger enough cold air
? Upgrade the fuel lines to braided teflon coated hose that is double ID thickness. This improves fuel flow and consistency.
? Pull the heads and have the spark plug ports brazed then re-drilled and taped for double plugs (would need spark splitter and second MSD with equal pills)

These are all low to moderate installs that could be contracted additionally with the purchase of the car.

If you have questions about the hp gain for each mod that could be made, Ralph can be reached by phone at 1-888-833-7223.
