Exclamation Im trading my scion tc for this s2000

2006 silver scion tc - has 75k, underglow, hid kit new speakers, clean carfax and has never been in a wreck

-trade for-

2001 black S2000 - has 76k miles, has a salvage title, seats ripped , back window is torn , body kit front bumper and rear, has crappy paint job, new radio , carbon hood that has cracks around the pins and one comes off, also has scratchs

The good- drives smooth and shifts awesome , engine is nice, goes left slighty not much at all , maybe alignment, skunk2 exhaust , k & n intake, roof top is good

Getting a inspection today

Fair trade?
or should he throw 500 in
or sell mine for 8500 and get a 100,000 mile s2000

I would find another car to buy/trade for.
Any car that is cosmetically trashed is generally
mechanically trashed as well.

That car sounds like bad news, good cars come with patience. Granted it took me all of 1 hour to find my eventual 04' S2k. I was just lucky to find what I was looking for in great condition. Its not really a car you should buy unless its mechanically and physically in good conditon.

If you're poor now, wait for the repair bills on a S2000! Don't be penny wise but pound fooilish. Save up and get a car you KNOW is decent and won't cause more financial pain.

Agreed....save & wait until you can afford a nice one. That's what I did, and I'm sure many others here have done so too. I'm going to guess that a good "entry level" price of an S2000 should be about $10-15,000. Maybe a little less...but that'll keep you clear of junkers.

PS...WHY DON'T PEOPLE TAKE BETTER CARE OF THEIR S2000s! It's a god-damn shame to hear about cars like what you described.

Im not sure how you think its a good deal... Whats the value on your car? An 01 with 76K can be had for under 15k. Now Carbon hood nothing special imo I dont even like them and its cracked.. The seats and top are the most expensive parts on the S besides the motor. You will prob need 2000 to replace them and thats used. Crappy paint job I guess your just going to live with it cause paint job is going to run you a few thousand unless your just going to replace it with another crappy paint job.. Not trying to be a dick but, Its not sounding like too good of a car.

Zac, forget that car!

Also, inspection doesn't really mean crap - it just says that the tires are good, brakes are good, and all the bulbs work. Keep the Scion for now...at least that's a good running car that'll last a while.

Yeah, hang on to what you got for now. The TC should last you at least another 75K miles and should be paid of by the time you hit that mark. Also think about the cost of insurance, lower fuel economy, higher grade of fuel, ect...

Wow, stay with the tC until a better deal comes along. On the otherhand, I bet the other guy is getting the same advice to stick with the S no matter its condition. I bought an 06 tC for my son last year. It's a good car, but just doesn't have any wow factor. We got rid of it when I bought my S and I gave m son my 06 Si...which is sooooo much better than the tC.

We're not looking for numbers here. Yes, S2KI has lots more people. We're just being honest.

This forum is way better than S2Ki...it's just way too confusing over there. Maybe it's just me being an idiot...but S2000.com is just easy to get around on. Though I still haven't figured out how to start a new thread yet....
