A while back I brought up the topic of people using the site for free advertising. They contribute nothing, but hope to profit from our fascination with cars and all things mechanical.

Most other stewians seemed not to care, so I got off my soap box.

It is kinda annoying. As long as no one posts on it and bumps it onto the first page more than a few times, it doesn't really get on my nerve.

They don't really know the demographic either; like posting for sale threads of cars we already own. Or posting for sale threads with uber rare JDM civic parts(not that I don't like them, just a different breed than a stewie) Just doesn't make sense.

All in all, lets just ignore them and let them fall of the front page.

Hop on Java! This soap box is big enough for everyone. I'm sure someone will try to set fire to it before we're done.

I'm still a little green arouond the gills on this site, but I've noticed that comnpared to the "other" sites there is very little posted for sale. That is one of the things that drew me to this place. (that and the collection of mo rons and em becils that hang around here.) I agree just ignore them and let fall by the way side.

i like the idea of not being able to sell anything until you have 100 posts. on other sites (not necessarily s2k) you have to be a member (which costs money). since this wonderful place is free, maybe a post requirement would work?

I have sent a PM to the Admin with a thought or two. I will see what he/she has to say and make a proposal (no Java, not that type of proposal) to the club members.

I guess you could say I've come around. There were always a few people abusing the system, but I didn't feel it was too disruptive. But lately, it sure seems like it's gotten out of hand and continues to get worse.

I'm fine with people selling stuff as long as they are rspectful to the locals, but most of the time they are NOT.

I DEF think a minimum post count should be a requirement!

'Minimum post requirement could work'z long those posts were spent becomin' a member, gettin'a know yer way aroun', meetin' other memberz'n such.
Not jus' comin' on board for the sole'n obvious purpose'a usin' the memberz'z'a source'a income.
Hell! I don't believe that every member has godda got their own Stewie sittin't the ready, but when'a fella'z postz're all about hawkin'warez . . they sure'z hell ain't a member with anythin' in mind but member'n site abuse.
When that becomez obvious that some "member" is considerin' us'n our site'z nothin' more'n'a oud'a-the-way fishin' hole waitin' fer'em to drop fly after fly in . . . . I think that the moderatorz should punch their ticket.
You're obviouosly lost pal. This ain't @*#&in' ebay.

I have a quadra-jet that I made into a lamp. Does this mean I can't sell it here? I also have a Ford 390 that I made into a boat anchor..........oh, wait........it was already a boat anchor.
