it could be the battery, definitely.

however it is probably the battery terminals. pop the hood and wiggle the terminals, make sure they are not loose.

this happened to me on saturday... turned out it was the 100a battery fuse under the hood... my supercharger pulley came loose n grounded out my alternator and it kept blowing the fuse.... you will need a philips screwdriver to change this fuse

I agree, if you just changed the battery and it's dead then either it's faulty (it happens) or the cables were corroded from the old battery that presumably died and aren't connecting well with the new terminals. Or you left the lights on 'cause you were excited about the new battery...

Come to think of it, why did you change the battery? You might have a battery killer problem, like a short somewhere. Any new electronics lately?
