Nissan 370Z !

Hey Dudes and Dudettes coming home from work tonight and low and behold a 370Z! Hmmmm, I just have to. So I rollled along side it and let the driver know what a VTEC engine sounds like. LOL! So we both got on it and I hope his rev-matching trans was working OK, cuz I pulled a good car length on him. Like to see one at the track

I like them. Would love to drive one. Don't want to own one, but I do like them.

Yup, I like them too. The auto rev-match feature is pretty cool. I wonder it alerts you if you accidently shift to 2nd when you want to go to 4th.

Everything I've seen about a 350-370Z v s2000 we will loose everytime. Track or straight. Its just a more powerfull car.
But there again we did not choose the s2000 purely for power. I like what it offers.......plain and simple.

You can learn to do it all you want, everything I have read has said that the system does the job better than 99% of the drivers on the planet.

I have yet to see one of these 370zs, although i thought i saw one the other night in college station. Turned out it was a brand new GTR, I was driving my friends 03' eclipse and I revved my engine trying to get the driver to step on it. The driver floored at for maybe a second, and damn he was already half a mile ahead of me. Those GTRs are fast.....

I like the looks of the 370. Reminds me a lot of the old 240Z.

side by side 370 looks way smaller than 350... and overall it's shorter, wider, lower, lighter with better engine and auto heel-toe... And it even looks good. I'm not a fan of those wiggly lights lights (front and back). And it costs about the same as S.
There are virtually no negative things about it. And although i like it - i don't know if i would trade my S for it. Maybe i'd leave my S and add z370 to it. Why i even write about it?

Even with expensive sports cars............the consumer only purchases ouright only 1 out of 6 new vehicles. The rest are either leased on financed. Then there's the mandatory maintenance which usually isnt accounted for, or possibly informed of upon time of purchase.

350 vs s2000 in a straight line from a roll the 350 will win, but my car will pull a g35 on the highway which has the same engine as the 350. it all comes down to weight.

if you finance a car but you cant afford the maintenance that comes along with it then you cant afford the car.

ive seen a lot of 14 flat and ~100mph traps from stock 350zs.... which is about what a stock s2000 will run.

Not exactly true. Many people buy cars and can JUST BARELY make the payments. They forget about the cost increase in fuel, insurance, maintenance, etc.

I can afford the payments on a used Cayman right now. When I add in the increase in insurance (adding another car without dropping one) and the increase in fuel used (less MPG then the DD I have now), the cost becomes too much. Let alone the tires I will go through faster, the oil changes (they don't have to be done by the dealer, but I would have them do it anyway), etc. it takes me out of my budget.

that is my point... if you cant afford the maintenance you cant afford ownership of the car.

ownership encompasses much more than just a car payment.

I completely agree. I didn't see your 2nd post until after I submitted mine.

Many times people don't look ahead when it comes to car ownership. How many people have we seen come through here that can't wait to buy an S and then can't understand why they have to buy tires so often or can't afford to replace a clutch or diff when they blow one up because it is their 'race car' and 'that's how you are suppose to drive it'?

One thing I don't like about the 350z 370z is that it is too big, fat and heavy to be a 2 seater.

I saw one in person earlier and it looks pretty good. I don't see what all the hype is about though, when i think about the displacement I'm not all that impressed, if an S2k had i v6 I'm sure it could destroy the Z. that's just me, i know they're both in the same class and all but i still say boo

Why would the 370 having a larger displacement make a difference? It outperforms honda period. If honda did this blah blah blah. Well honda didnt so the 370 is the superior car.

Honda does put V6's in cars, just not sports cars.

I have a motor thats a one cylinder 4.6cc and puts out 3.2 hp I guess that would blow the s2000 away if it was a 4 cyl.

Hmm... under the hood has so much room, you'll probably be able to fit a inline 6, v6 or a v8 easily. According to the weight on the door panel, AP1s front weight is 1568lbs, and rear is 1850lbs. So would swapping a heavier engine like a v6 under the hood would actually give a near 50/50 weight distribution? A 350z engine inside of a S2K would be cool, eh?
