We will be doing Mullholland to Decker than to the snake (aka) Rock store. I'm on the way out so see you guys there if you going. If the parking lot is FULL I'll be on PCH on the right side of the ocean so keep your eyes open.

"Odalisque" is the name of a book I wrote. Kinda cheezy to put it on your license plate, I know. But I'll be dead soon, so what the hell.

You wrote a book about a Turkish concubine? I'm puzzled by your last sentence. I'm still a kid and you're younger than I.

The ride was great tho, good meeting chaz and phil. Hope you others can make it out next time.

Not exactly. More like the story of an LAPD cop and a hooker. "Odalisque" has a couple of meanings, including the one you cite. I won't post the link to my book, since it might violate forum rules, but you can find it on the internet.

I was half-kidding, Phil. "Memento mori," "Vanitas vanitatum" and all that. I am trying to lighten up and have a good time, since it's all going to be over soon enough. You seem to be having a pretty good time. Maybe I'll follow you, the next time we all go up Stunt Road together.

Sorry I missed you guys. I was driving around to all of the Fire Stations, thanking the firefighters and giving them certificates for free Chiropractic care in my office. I'll either be really busy the next few weeks or they may think that there's a "catch" and not come in. I'm hoping for really busy and there is no catch.

Life isn't a waiting room. I probably enjoy the S more now than I would have in my acne years. Any day I get out of bed is a good day.

When my youngest daughter was in high school and my beard was darker she'd ride on the back of my motorcycle. Her friends would ask who her cool boyfriend was.

By the time I could grow a full beard, it was already grey. My daughter's friends wondered why her cool grandad was picking her up.

What did you have in mind, chaz? Tomorrow is not so good for me, but I will definitely be out on Sunday morning. And then there's Monday morning, too. Neptune's Net is cool, but there's also Malibu center (and plenty of good parking in front of Malibu Civic Center). What's everybody up for?

P.S. I've noticed the coppers are really out this weekend, on surface streets and, I assume, the freeways.

Like I said, I will definitely be out in the Malibu mountains on Sunday morning. We just have to sychronize on a place and time. It shouldn't be too hard. We could meet at Neptune's Net at 10, if that's easiest for you. Unfortunately, it's usually a mob scene with bikers on Sunday. But if everyone wants to go there, I don't mind.

I've been on both a tracks at Willow — on motorcycles. It would be cool to have an excuse to go up as a spectator. But I don't think I want to hassle with the holiday traffic coming back. lol.

Chaz, looks like you're going to have pretty good weather Monday, only 83 degrees. I was expecting it to be 100.

chaz, I assume you mean the scenic lookout on Mulholland above the Rock Store. Sounds good. See you there at 10:00 a.m.

Anyone else coming?

Yesterday, chazdawg35 (Charlie) and I met up at the scenic overlook above the Rock Store at 10:00 a.m. Charlie's done numerous mods on his AP1, including CAI, pads and rotors and wider rear tires. In the pic below, Charlie is pointing out his strut brace. You will notice that all Charlie's mods are meticulously and beautifully done, and everything looks clean and neat.

The weather was great. A perfect California day. Traffic was not too heavy. Road conditions were good. Not too many cops about. And the cars ran well. We drove Mulholland to Stunt, then down Piuma, but we went left instead of right and went down Las Ramblas to PCH. Then, north to Latigo, across Kanan to Encinal, and down Decker back to PCH. By that time, lunch was in order, so we went south on PCH to Malibu and had a good lunch. We even shared a table with a nice couple who didn't object to talking about cars and motorcycles for an hour.

A good day!
