Hey Dudes and Dudettes, this thread is kinda a spin off of Neptunes Net Meet. Seeing how alot of us like to drive Mullholland, Decker, Encial + maybe we can post traffic and meetings here.

Sigh. I so miss the Mulholland runs ... Malibu all the way to Hollywood, dirt road parts and all, I wish I could take my S on that one now... Meatloaf was the best CD for that, with my passenger holding on during some of the mountain curves, ah memories.

Hey Mark I was able to sneek away this afternoon for a quik run but some friends from out of town are staying with me this weekend so tommorrow I'm stuck here. Next weekend is great for me, plus if we have a week to plan it maybe we can get more people.

No problem, chaz. You didn't miss too much anyway. Although weather and road conditions were good, and early morning traffic was light, the place was crawling with cops, and they were behaving like they ran out of Preparation-H about three days ago. There were even two CHP cruisers parked on Mulholland right at the overlook above the Rock Store (the overlook where you and I met). They stopped one guy right in front of me for no discernable reason. I'm like, "Wh-- th- fu--?" I don't know what brought them out today, but they were out and having a time of it.

Anyway, let's see about next week. I go out just about every Sunday.

Sun, June 14, 9am, Meet at the Chart House restaurant.

9:30am, head out, going pch -> decker canyon -> mulholland -> stunt dr -> rancho pacifico (the most beautiful place... crests a mountain with 180 degrees of ocean on the horizon) -> back to chart house

Man I love this route. A few people outside of this group are coming, so it should be a good turnout. Who else can make it?

With that being said I think we should move the drive to NEXT Sunday. I will not drive my S in the rain, to many crash factors.

My sentiments exactly JDM. For what it's worth, I'm 20 minutes from Malibu and it didn't rain at all. Been beautiful the rest of the day. Even if it does rain... which 99% probability it won't... top down... drive fast... no water in the car!!

It's on like donkey kong!!

Thats good to hear. We ended up getting to 2 other s2k owners and talked with em. one of them was supercharged. I also spun out on the stunt road

Glad your OK Dude! If you want to get better grip on the road CHANGE YOUR TIRES! and get an alignment. Trust me my S handled like crap untill I got things set up. Go with a lower treadware tire like 200 or less, you will see a BIG difference.

Yeah, great day - very funny commentary Marrk - you're quite a character. So glad your spin was uneventful Bear (aka JDM - you gotta change your name on here to bear - that's too good of a nickname not to use. Heck, you have a license plate with it!!!).

As we discussed after your spin, it's very important to learn how to avoid, anticipate, and if all else fails, manage trailing throttle oversteer. Also - chaz - let us know what tires you ended up getting off the internet - I know you're in love with them (and driving wayy better). Share your secret!!
