Brake Rotors

Might sound like a noob question but what would be the best way to clean brake rotors? mine are in need of a good clean.

^What he said. I am guessing though that you mean the hats and the spines are rusted and you want the rust to go away, correct?

I know for a FACT that the last year of production of the S2000 is 2003!!!!!
After that, it will be the S2200 under an assumed name.

I clean them with sand paper medium then fine grid, Wire Brush, Brake cleaner, let dry then cover pad area with tape. Use high temp spray paint them.

its rust, they are cast iron or whatever.

you can buy a brake paint kit, find one that uses a brush. take the rotors off and clean them with non chlorinated brake cleaner then brush the paint on the hats and the vanes.

I've never heard of someone painting their rotors. Surely that is a complete waste of time and paint. Calipers yes (if you want)....but not rotors!

Mine also rust quickly after a rain or washing....no big deal.

So how long do you think it will be before the ceramic brake technology trickles down to affordable levels???

what is wrong with painting the non friction surface? how have you never heard of that? people do that all the time if it wasnt done by the factory.

Yeah, I googled it after I posted above, and found quite a bit more than I thought I would. Seems like powder coating is the way to go....but some of these pages almost seem like a joke.
