AEM Cold Air Filter Change
Ok, so I just bought this 2002 in supurb condition from the used lot at the dealer. Comes with an AEM Cold Air Intake already installed by the previous owner. I can see the filter (a very dirty filter) through the front grill tucked in the front passenger fender. HOW DO I GET TO IT?? I think I read some other threads recently on this or another site that may have mentioned taking off some plate on the bottom. Anyone know the right way to access the filter for a change? Thanks, Tim

That is how you can access it. Some people remove the entire front bumper, but it can be done by removing the plastic piece under the passenger side where it meets the front bumper. I believe it is 1 screw and 6 bolts. Not as tough as it sounds. Jack the front of the car up and use jacks stands to hold it there. Shouldn't take that long. It will take longer to clean the filter correctly then to remove and reinstall the plastic piece.

Clean v. Replace the filter
Great stuff, guys...thanks so much. Can/should the filter be cleaned, or simply replaced?

They are made to be cleaned, but if you don't mind spending the money to get a new one, that is the best way to go.
