Hi Bob; last time I checked with TireRack they had a very light weight set of wheels for Stewie. 'Sorry, can't recall the brand r' other specifics, but the weight impressed me n' it was a good lookin' wheel to boot.
Be well. Java Bob, they're TR Motorsport F3s. Lightweight n' ain't cheap.

I went on rotas web site, they seemed pretty cheap and a good deal to me if i can get them in the stock size or very close too it.Alot better deal than Mugen has for basicly the same wheel.

It is VERY important you get the right offsets or you will severely compromise your ability to put the proper size tires on there.
If you use a lower offset it moves the rims out wider which cuts down on the amount of space available for tires. And while we are on the subject of tires totally ignore the rated size of the tires and go straight to the actual width measurements. The tire you want doesn't give actual measurements, that's because they are smaller than the rated size. The stock S02s on the AP1 are wider than the rated size. |

Also beware the flim-flam man. I ran a thread offerin' a set of wheels (Wheels for Sale With a Warning) that an on-line dealer assured me would work on Stewie without any problems. "Sure, he says. We sell 'em to S2000 owners all'a time. Use 'em myself on mine don'cha know". Anyway, he assured me that the difference in the offset wasn't gonna cause any problems. In fact they pass off the fact that the offsets aren't correct as it being a "more aggressive stance".
Anyway, I bought 'em n' they caused tire/wheel well contact with both my stock 'Stones n' my winter Dunlops. There's a maximum difference that you can get away with in wheel offset. Matt G posted the limits, but I don't recall where on-site it is, but I'm sure you could find it again. Unless you jus' want Stewie to sit in a lawn chair admirin' how good it looks, you don't wanna get talked into exceedin' those limits. Be well. Java

lol, yea i think i want to drive it after i get the wheels on there Java.I guess i will have to find that post for the limits of offset because every where i look i can not find a light weight wheel thats the same size and off set as the stock wheel, most are a half inch wider or so. Thanks again guys.

AME wheels are incredibly light. Actually, they're insanely light, but also very very expensive. If you get real Enkei racing wheels, those are light as well.
The best way to shop for wheels is determine your budget right off the bat, then work from there. Check out AutoRnD. Rishie knows weights and offsets very well. I've worked with the on several occasions and he knows what he's doing. Seen many a S2000 go through there. But like I said, knowing your budget before hand will save you a lot of time. If you're looking for wheels in the Rota range, expect to be extremely limited to choice, and pretty much no real weight savings. Up your budget a bit and you'll find more options. Doesn't mean you have to spend $4k on wheels, though. |

I may've stolen this from Halo, Matt G., Go r' even another site, but, lets see if the Neanderthal can copy n' paste:
Based on successes and failures from many S2000 owners, we can use an offset calculator to figure out what other offsets and tires will work. These are minimum recommended offsets. You can use a higher offset if you want, and you will get additional fender clearance. For the front: 6.5” to 7.5” wide wheel: 205 tires: +43 offset minimum 7.0” to 8.0” wide wheel: 215 tires: +48 offset minimum 7.0” to 8.0” wide wheel: 225 tires: +53 offset minimum 7.5” to 8.5” wide wheel: 235 tires: +58 offset minimum 7.5” to 8.5” wide wheel: 245 tires: +63 offset minimum For the rear: 7.5” to 8.5” wide wheel: 235 tires: +40 offset minimum 7.5” to 9.0” wide wheel: 245 tires: +45 offset minimum 8.0” to 9.5” wide wheel: 255 tires: +50 offset minimum 8.5” to 9.5” wide wheel: 265 tires: +55 offset minimum 9.0” to 10.0” wide wheel: 275 tires: +60 offset minimum 9.0” to 10.0” wide wheel: 285 tires: +65 offset minimum The offsets above will all set the outside edge of the tire to the same place relative to the outer fender, rounding to the nearest millimeter. If we don't already godditt somewhere, I'm gonna see if we can't post it permanently on the site somewhere. Be well. Java
