sensitive steering or problem?

I've noticed that sometimes when I shift it's hard to keep the car completely straight and it wiggles some. My best friend and my brother have both driven it and they both noticed the same thing. They both thinkkk that there's a problem with the power steering. Any suggestions?

Aaay 'Killa, how ya been?
Stewie is very sensitive to input. No surprises there right? Unless you've managed to figure out some other way to shift n' drive, you're one-handin' the wheel while liftin' the weight of a leg to handle the pedal while you're shiftin'.
Add to that that most of us don't jus' throw gears with our right arms (or left arms dependin' on which side'a the pond we're on) we use our whole body to some extent.
As for your best friend n' your brother . . do they have any Stewie experience to gauge this by? If not, you're askin' folks unfamiliar with the car to make an assessment. Usually not the best thing to go by.
My money'd be on the car jus' bein' what we bought it for: very sensitive to input. Face it, you're not noticin' any of the symptoms durin' the 99% of your time in the cockpit when you're not shiftin', right?
Be well.

HEy killa i know what your talking about i'm no expert by no means but i have driven lots of cars. I think if you havent driven a car with a rear wheel drive LSD you couldnt tell the little differance in driven it.But what i think your talking about is normal.
I could tell what your talking about a few days after getting my car, Like when your under excel in a curve "not pushing it or racing" just under a nice excel and you let off you can also fill it pull to the direction of the curve.Correct me if i'm wrong someone but I think it has to do with the LSD being locked and when i let off the resistance between the inside tire and the road is released because under excel it is spining the same rotation as the outside tire but not traveling as far "in a curve"so there for it is scrubbing the ground but when i let off it releases. I hope i'm not sounding all retarted but i know with my truck i have a detroit locker rear end and it does some what this samething. I'm i out in left field? Or does this theory make any sense?

Check your rear tire pressures. I am betting one is less that the other. If not, tell me and I will tell you the next thing to check.

Trust me.

I know for a FACT that the last year of production of the S2000 is 2003!!!!!
After that, it will be the S2200 under an assumed name.

I can feel that smug look on your kisser from here Go.
Killa, what's the whole story? Jus' a guess, but I don't figure you're replacin' tires because the pressure is low. 'Sounds like we got extenuatin' circumstances.
But, if it was improper inflation . . . Go wuz right.
Be well.

well it has a hole in it. I got it plugged by it didn't help much so I just have to get it replaced. My brother and I thought that it was a small enough hole that we could just get it plugged and be ok but we were wrong.

Sensitive steering, to be sure...

Java has ID'd the issue exactly. When I'm shifting fast, I notice exactly the same thing, and it's nothing more than my left hand moving a bit when I'm pushing the stick forward. Wanna be gutsy? When it's safe and stable, ease your left hand/grip off the wheel for a sec while shifting. You'll see the problem has gone away.

Tire issues would be a constant...not just with shifting.

No worries!

Tim

Hey, Bobby! What you are describing is probably due to weight shift as you let off the gas. The LSD shouldn't lock AT ALL under normal driving situations. To check if yours does, just turn the wheel all the way to the lock and drive in a circle. If your LSD locks, it'll feel like you're in 4-wheel drive trying to do donuts. The limited slip dif lets one wheel spin faster than the other and should only lock if one tire loses traction.
