Flat tires

I have a 2005 S2000 that I bought about six months ago. I have had a great time with it, and like it a lot. I have a question about using the spare tire. It says in the owners manual that you can only use the spare tire on the front. If you have a flat on the rear you should put your front tire on the rear and use the spare on the front. ( rear differential damage will occur if you use the spare on the rear). Is there any thing different that I should know about this? Should a person carry the fix a flat repairs to avoid the hassle of changing two tires if he has a rear flat. Any info would be great. Thanks.

I know for a FACT that the last year of production of the S2000 is 2003!!!!!
After that, it will be the S2200 under an assumed name.
