Huh? The OEM dampers are Showa. Not sure it matters who makes them. Simply put, 2 inches is way too low for the OEM dampers to take. They weren't made for the duty of living that compressed all the time. You run the risk of them nailing the bumpstops or bottoming out. (read: BAD). Low profile tires will NOT lower your car closer to the ground. They will NOT reduce wheel well gap either. Running +1 (17") on the OEM wheel size (lower-profile tire) will aid in corning performance and steering response, as you have less sidewall flex to worry about. You start losing performance, when going +2 (18"), due to increased rotational/unsprung weight. This increased wheel weight will also increase stopping distance. A smaller diameter tire will lower your car effectively, but will increase wheel well gap. At the other end of the spectrum, a larger diameter tire will raise your car and decrease wheel gap.

400 for springs? Ouch!

Also, as others mentioned above....without a camber kit, you're not going to be able to get a 2" drop in to spec.

yea, i spent 400 for tien springs and installing them.

i thought skunk2 would be the economic way to go to lower it more than 1 inch (which i currently have)
but i can save up and get coil overs i guess.

how long do you think the dampers will last with a 2 inch drop with skunk2 springs?

ill post some pics on here when i get the chance. you cany fit ur fingers above the back tires at all and almost fit one in the front, guess they made the springs like that to level the drop out. there is no front downward angle with the springs its just like ----- perfectly level. its looks awsome i love it.

The dampers in a coilover are designed for the lowered use..

How long will stock dampers last with a 2inch drop? I dunno. I guess it depends how old the dampers are and how hard you'll be pushing them with the drop. I'm just saying they will have a shorter life. Just like putting boost on an S2000....it won't last as long as a stock n/a car.

one of my friends got skunk springs and is a bit lower than mine, i have tiens. its about half or a bit more of half inch drop all around.

doesnt seems too low to harm anything. i know the car can support tiens.

but once you drive the car, you can feel the difference. it seems a lot lower to the ground, but softer springs with the skunk.

a bit higher with the tiens but the springs are harder so you can feel the road.

i was a little drunk so going to drive it again.

The car seems to be able to handle skunk springs.

1.5 inch drop you can adj you stock camber and be good, any lower and you got to get a camber kit to get the right camber.

most shops will include the camber adjustment as part of the alignment,but you will always have some shops that will nickel and dime you to death,those crooks...lol

i have tien and only dropped 1 inch.
rides expectionally well. its a hard ride (which i like)
but a bit high, and doesnt look like a lowered car

skunk feels softer for some reason.
drops 2 inch, looks good, not as low as you would think. just have to drive more slower on driveways

does anyone know how nu speed springs rides, or any other springs thats lower than 1 inch?

I have megan racing springs, and found that although they have the perfect drop, 1.5 inches, they are very soft. Not sure what the spring rates are, but definitely the stock springs seem stiffer.....

I recommend that if you're going to drink and drive, use the cheapest springs you can find. You inevitably are going to crash the car anyway, so why waste money on expensive springs?

Springs wont do anything for your handling.. If anything they worsen it.. I have Espilr's and I love the drop they give you.. Feels awesome too.

i would have to disagree with that. i got the skunk2 and my handling feels alot better than it did before. i can take turns a bit faster with the springs than before. i will say it drops the ride comfort down alot but i dont really care.
