I see some aftermarket suspension components on that car. Makes me wonder if the line was stretched or damaged.

'n it looks to me like it was weeping fluid before it let loose.
It pays to put an eyeball under there once in a while, especially if you're tracking the car.

I flush out my brake fluid and all my other fluids before every track day for 2 reasons: 1) to have fresh fluid for better performance 2) makes my mechanic put an eye on all the mechanicals to make sure everything is good.

I'm betting that someone left the caliper hanging on the hose during suspension or brake work. I've seen "certified" mechanics do it more than once.

That'd be my guess too Don, but to cause a failure like that, it wuz probably the norm rather than the rare occasion, yuh think?
