Time for new tires

Well it's time to replace my tires and I currently have the stock ones on. I am looking to upgrade to a better handling tire. I have done some searching on the forums and have found some information, but I figured I would ask see what people currently think or like.

I am currently looking at the Bridgeston Potenza RE-01R and the Yokohama S Drives. Is anyone using these tires and what do they think or what do other people recommend? Also should I stay with the OEM tire sizes or can I go a little larger? My S is not a daily driver, driven only in good weather and 2-3 days a week. Thanks for the help!

I'm gonna make yuh yawn Terp, but the real proof'a the puddin'z in'a tests done by the proz, who test'em all back-to-back-to-back.
Any lay person'z ability to give an opinion on everything that'z out there is very limited compared to someone who'z funded to take out a whole bunch'a different hoopz'n put'em all through the same pacez, ratin'em as they go.
Check with the 'Rack.
Go by their testing resultz, not what the ownerz rate'em as.
Any'a the magazinez that pay some pro to take a bunch'a tirez out'n flog the snot oud'uv'em'll work too. As long as they're all subjected to the same testing and the driverz've done this before, it should be good info.(The preceedin' wuz a paid political announcement. Contrary point'z'a view're alwayz duly considered . . . . jus' before it'z balled-up'n tossed into the cylindrical file.)
(Okay. Okay. Mr. Scott. Engage the disclaimer cloaking device.)

I hear ya Java, and I have read many of the reviews on tirerack and such. I guess I was looking more for what some of the people were running on their S's and how they liked them.

I have run the Potenzas that came on the car. Good tires for all around driving.
I drive rather spirited and expect some grip with mine.
Currently running stock sizes on my AP2. Falken 452s. I ran them at the dragon event and found them to be quite good on te turns as well as in the wet.
previously I have run Hankook K105,Khumo MX. So far the 452s and the MXs are about equal in my mind.

Check the vid below to see how the Falkens handle.

Hey man, i just switched my Yokahama ES100's out for the new S-Drives, which are great, they have pretty good tread wear, and they have amazing grip, they are good in the rain to. They are also very predictable.

RE-01R's and the Z1 Star Specs seem to be very popular. I just put the F1 GS-D3's on mine and realize now that I should have gone with 225's in the front and 255's in the rear.

I have the 0-1R's on my S and love them! They are very forgiving and give great feedback response wise to the driver. They are very sticky tires, but being that they are high performance tires, they do wear faster assuming you do "a lot" of spirited driving.
I would rate the ride quality/noise at the same level as the stock (RE-050's) with superior adhesion and cornering.
