wheel bearings

has anybody had to change the front wheel bearings i think thats were a very loud sound is coming from. if it were the brakes i think that it would change with the use of the breaks. its like a rolling grawl that gets high pitched. it also changes with directional load side to side. it has to be the bearings. any ideas

I had a similar issue on the back wheels at low speed. It turned out that the calipers weren't retracting keeping the pads squeezed on the rotor. I was told bearing problems are audible at all speeds and the brakes only at low speed. Hope that helps.

I suggest you don't drive the car if you have a wheel bearing that's making that much noise. You could do a LOT more damage and it could be dangerous.

I second that. My mechanic has said there have been cases of Honda losing wheels without warning. Mine was making an extremely loud noise in the left rear when I had them done.

HAVE YOU RECENTLY DONE ANYTHING TO THE BRAKES?
CAUSE YOU COULD HAVE BENT THE DUST SHIELD AND IT IS RUBBING THE ROTORS.
WHEN I PUT MINE BACK TOGETHER IT WAS EXTREMELY LOUD GRINDING. SO I TOOK IT APART AND SPUN IT AND I FOUND IT.
HAVE YOU DONE THIS? YOU CAN GO TO WWW.pdftown.com AND DOWNLOAD THE SERVICE MANUAL. THAT WILL HELP YOU OUT ALOT.

Yea, snapped one side of my front sway bar links, Its really wierd bc they seem to be made fairly cheap. Easy fix though.

I just had my driver rear bearing replaced. It was so bad it wrecked the drive axle's splines from the wobble. Only became noticable for a week and a half. Scary to think of driving down the road and a wheel rolls off.
